| the lady with the 3lb. Yorkie ticked me off So here in the Midwest it's been cold cold cold, and the same old snow has been on the ground a month. Last weekend I bathed the dogs, and even blow dried them out so they looked fantastic. I spent hours on them, extra conditioner, nails, teeth, bows in the hair, the works. I took them to PetSmart to get out of the house, sniff some other dogs, visit the cats awaiting new homes, and their all time favorite, to look in on the bird and hamster/mouse./rodent cages. All was going well, until this lady came to pick up her Yorkie from the grooming area... she was heading our way and said to her little puppy "look, yorkies, like you!" She held a little pup in her hands, sweet face, and little bunch of a topknot in her cute little forehead. Of course, my 2 were like "put her down here!!" The lady was like "oh those are bigger Yorkies... mine is 6 months old, and she's as big as shes going to get at 3lbs" and kind of snotted off! My dogs are 2.5 years old, and Tucker's usually around 6lbs and Lucy can be anywhere from 8-9lbs depending on how much excercise she gets. It was like my dogs were too big for her little dog. Hmpf! First, at 6mos, they are not necessarily at final size. Second, is 3lbs really healthy? And third, wtf gives her the right to think that just because she has an underweight dog she is too good for us? Of course, the dogs let it go the minute she was out of sight, and I should probably follow their lead. But it bugs me! We did meet some really well socialized pit bulls! They go to doggie daycare and were soooo sweet! Spring is coming, right? Teresa |

| First of all, Spring is coming! I live in oklahoma and it was 70 degrees and windy today! A far cry from the solid sheet of ice a week ago! Second, I kind of think she's a jerk. She could tell your pups were bigger than hers the second she saw them, she didn't just "realize" it magically after she said "Yorkies like you!" I would probably think she thinks hers is better because of the way she went about that. It seems like she'd be turning her nose up while saying it. Good for you for getting them out of the house, and for spending so much time on them! I bet they looked great! All 15 lbs. of them!

| Oh man, I get that all the time. Franklin is 11.4lbs and Maggie is 9.8lbs. My favorite is when people try to convince me they aren't Yorkies and that they're Silkies OR better yet, that they're mixed with something. UGH. Some people. Just sleep well at night knowing that your self esteem doesn't depend on a tiny 3lb dog. It just bothers me that people get a sense of entitlement because their dog is smaller than yours. If anything, yours are definitely more Yorkie!

| And what a shame it was that she was such a snob, her pup missed out on some excellent Yorkie play time. Lucy and Tucker have a Yorkie buddy named Ariel that they get to visit from time to time, and Yorkies KNOW other Yorkies. It's like a special, Yorkie only playtime. Ariel lives with a poodle that has no interest in their Yorkie antics. Teresa |

| Hahah, she definitely missed out! Sounds like your pups were eager to play! That's funny you say that about yorkies, I've only had Prada a week but she definitely recognizes the other yorkies, and she is different with them. With most of the other dogs she'll play or doesn't let them sniff her nose, but she lets the other yorkies sniff her face. But she's going into heat I guess, so her face hasn't been what they were interested in the past couple days..

| Because Molly weighs 14lbs, people always think she is a crossbreed. She also has biiiig hair which makes her face look quite round! When she comes out of the bath, her head is tiny, and she looks 100% yorkie. Ive given up trying to explain to people and am trying to think more like a dog....live in the moment (as Cesar would say!) and forget whatever anyone says, as soon as they've gone. |

| Hate snobby people Our little guy weighed in at 2lbs this week at vet and is 15 weeks old and I was worried about him not being big enough. Its like people who compare children and the ones who are the biggest snobs usually have the homeliest little kids and not as the old sayin goes a pot to pee in or a window to throw it out of..I will never understand snobbery. Oh and another thing maybe your yorkies have healthier coats than hers which also makes them look bigger, maybe you should of pointed that out to this ummmm lady. | Some people with small yorkies are like that. You should have said " I picked the healthier variety". I think the small ones are cute but I like My bigger ones better. I dont have to worry about them getting injured from a jump from the couch

I coudn't have said it better myself. As you can see by my pictures I have one of each. Gizmo is a teapot at 13 lbs and I get comments all the time. Barkley is 5lbs, healthy and sturdy and it amazes me when we run into people how they immediately go to him and he could care less. Gizmo loves the attention and it is sad sometimes. It very well could happen. Six months is definitely not the end of the growing period.

| sorry for the rude lazy ruining your day like this I just feel so sorry for her pup, she seems like the kind of people who would dump their dogs when they get bigger than "expected" what if her pup ends up bigger than 3lbs, I cannot imagine just a side note though, 3 pounder doesn't always mean unhealthy I know a number of the smaller babies on YT are just as healthy, so is my girl Dolly, she is 2.8lbs at 3years and hasn't had any problem since day 1 also, 3lbs doesn't always mean underweight, some dogs frames are just built for a smaller weight
