| I thought the same thing! I just feel that new pet owners need to read up about having an animal first! I guess im Bias though since I was a vet tech, and I sorta know things, but even so, i stll call the vet!@

| I don't know where I fit in here...I understand some things can't wait like if the dog is bleeding all over or unconscious, then yes of course take them to the 24 hour vet right away. But if its something like puking or bloody runs..I'd wait til morning. In fact I once took Minnie to the vet because of a seizure..they wouldn't take her because I couldn't pay a 100 cash fee for walking in, they just left her in my arms not a care in the world!! Like really?? not everyone has 100 on them when they're running to the vet. Some people simply can't afford to spend insane amounts on vet bills. I can't tell you how many vet bills we have accrued over the passed 5 years. It is astronomical. If the dog isn't dying then I check the internet first..I can't afford to run to the vet for every little thing. Just walking into the office cost $55-75! That's half my pay check!! And god forbid it's an emergency overnight call it'll cost over a hundred just to walk in! So unless they are dying I will not go in overnight. It will have to wait til morning. Some vets don't even offer care credit here..And if you've seen my post where Cosmo hit his head I rushed him to a 24 hr vet that treated him like trash and almost killed him..a lot of people were on my case telling me to go for mri this and that..I could not afford that $5000 mri people on here recommended and I did not believe Cosmo needed it and he had been to many vets that week..and he's doing just fine a year later! So sometimes you have to trust your instincts also. Owners know their dog best, and I hope nobody is stupid enough to know their dog is dying and just leave it on the floor because they don't want to pay the bill. That's just nuts. |

Dog Health: Bloody Diarrhea - Symptoms and Treatment Information I would hate to see anyone leave YT because of hard feelings when asking a question about a sick dog. I think most try their best and if you or others would try to put yourself in the position of the person answering the question it will help you see how difficult it is at times. I think to try to answer with your knowledge on the subject and add always best to see your vet because I only know so much is best. JMHO
