| New Yorkie owner My name is Monica and I recently attained a Yorkie a week ago from my brother who had him for 2 weeks and Knew nothing about him so I took him in. He is unpapered, has no pedigree, he is 2 years old and very sweet. I named him Enoch from a book, and I have a 3 month old Italian Greyhound currently and was wondering how well they would get along. This last week it hasn't been too bad, but my Italian Greyhound seems to be a little more rambuctious then the yorkie, which seems to get on his nerves. I was also wondering what kind of toys Enoch would like and be entertained by? Any other advice you may have for a new owner would be appreciated, especially advice about how I could better his relationship with my Italian Greyhound. |

| Hi! Welcome! Would love to see pictures of both your babies. I think Italian Greyhound's are so regal looking. I'm guessing the weather is pretty bad in MO right now, but if at all possible take them on walks together. That will be the fastest way to bond them as a pack. Try to help wear down your puppy some so that he/she (?) isn't so wired. Then you can try to get Enoch to join in some play. I'd have some soft, hard and squeaky toys available and see if Enoch chooses any of them to play with. Gracie Ruth and Yogi LOVE all toys, but especially squeaky ones. Boo, unfortunately, doesn't care for any toys but seriously dislikes the squeaky ones. Poor Boo. But he will join in and play with the puppies if I or DH is playing with them too. Lots of love and positive reinforcement to Enoch when he joins in and/or does something good. Let them work out their limits with each other, but keep an eye on your puppy so that he/she doesn't bully Enoch. Puppies have sooooo much energy and can't understand why anyone wouldn't want to play with them. It's worked well for us that Boo was able to get on the couch and the puppies couldn't. He knew if he needed to get away from them he could go there and be safe. Try to find a place for Enoch to know that it is a safe zone and that should help with any frustration from Enoch. Good Luck and keep us posted.

| Thank you so much for replying! This was very helpful. Ender (my IG) sometimes seems to be bullying Enoch now that you bring it up, and Ender can't really jump on my bed, so Enoch usually gets up on the bed but then he taunts Ender and when they are both up here, and Ender is laying down, sometimes Enoch will walk up to Ender and start egging him on. Enoch is very sweet and a lot less energetic, I have a plush squeeky and non-squeeky toy, Kong toy, rope, and some chew bones for both of them, and neither really seem to want to play with them, especially Enoch. My main wonder is that when I am playing with Ender, Enoch with come up but won't join in, and I'm wondering if maybe he's afraid to. It is very bad weather right now, we are in an ice storm, so they have only been going out to go to the bathroom, and I haven't been able to take them on walks, but when I did go outside with Enoch, that is when he is the happiest and will jump all over Ender and me and just run around. |

I thought I'd heard where ya'll were getting hit. Just wait it out and when you can, get them outside for a walk or play time. It seems that Enoch must really enjoy being outside.

| Really sweet of you to bring Enoch into your home to love. My dh loves IG. He wants one but we're overloaded in doggies already. Sounds like you an alert, concerned mommy and you will figure things out. Hugs to your two babies.
