i have given up a few things but all things i can do without!

since their food is kind of pricey (evo and raw) i give up silly makeup and skincare odds and ends at the drugstore or sephora or nordstrom

i also gave up waking up and getting ready for work in a leisurely manner LOL ... i need to feed and play with the kids for a while in the mornings because i have to go to work all day and miss them

also, being comfy in bed or couch - once they get snuggled in, i hate to move them

It is a cute commercial and we like it best b/c, as he is sitting on the sofa, his oven timer goes off and he reaches over and pulls out a hot dish without a mitt. My husband is always grabbing stuff from the oven and/or microwave and acts completely shocked that the item is hot. Anyway, my kids laugh and laugh b/c of that part!

I have given up some of my freedom which I don't mind at all..
No more dinner's after work with friends or a movie and pizza
afterwards. This stopped completly. I have to get right home for
Buddy. I don't mind at all. It's just like having a baby to get home to.
If I can't do it on weekends I don't do it.

1) I have given up my dining room as Canyon's X-pen takes up the entire space.
2) I've given up overnight stays unless it's some place Canyon can go.
3) I've given up alot of television viewing as he keeps me busy wanting to play.
4) I've given up the passenger side of my car as Canyon's car seat is there.
5) I've given up getting my hair done at regular intervals to afford more things for Canyon

However, I don't feel cheated, I feel blessed that this creature could mean so much that I would change so many things in my life.

Ha! No, I haven't gone quite that far. I have pretty much given up on cooking, though. I either eat somewhere Thor can go, or something straight from the fridge (which is still in the kitchen).

I feel truly blessed that I haven't had to give up on anything other than more money spent for having our baby (the hubby says there goes another plasma/lcd we couldn't justify buying but have managed to spend on our yorkie) . And putting our honeymoon on hold indefinitely. Even a little vacation to Disneyworld would have to wait. Our previous plan of going on a 7 or 9 day Med. cruise will have to be put off until she's older and I can trust my family or find a trustworthy dog-loving friend to take care of her while we're away. None of them thus far can commit the amount of time I spend with her so those types of travelling will have to wait.

Before finding my little angel, I was fully prepared to have to give up on my previous life style and be chained to the house for a long time. I had held off on and timed getting a puppy with that thought in mind. I had waited until I was ready to commit to the training, etc., needed. But she made it all so easy. And I actually enjoy being home and out more than life before furbaby! She's been reminding me how much I do love the beautiful sun and blue skies unfiltered through a sheet of glass and why home is a sweet home to come back to.

It is not so much what I have given up as to what I have gained...

- one uptight attitude
+ lots of smiles and giggles
- one reclining chair
+ the admiration of lying on the hard floor playing
- one soft fuzzy throw (which is now Bentley's fav)
+ a curled up furball who keeps my toes nice and cozy with his body/blankie
- about 2/3 of my 1/2 of the king size bed (it is amazing how much space these little guys demand)
+ the best sleeping partner I could ask for
+ the best personal greeter that any 5-star restaurant could possibly want
+ cuddles cuddles and more cuddles

All and all they definitely bring more than they take away!!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYBODY!!!

I DON'T EVEN HAVE A MY LIBBIE YET and I'm already changing! I'm already telling my friends I can't do late girls night out until summer. . . unless someone can watch ehr. . . cause my baby will be to small to be left alone. I'm constantly cleaning now. . I NEVER used to. I'm rearranging my room so it will fit all her clothes, toys and playpen. I can't wait to get her!

No more holidays abroad for me! I couldnt bear to leave Twinkle - even with family or a friend; I'd be constantly thinking about her and feeling guilty! It's not a huge sacrifice though - DH hates to fly anyway and there are some lovely places in the UK to go on holiday (honest!) xx xxx

Default given up

Boy, you got that one right.!!
I , too, have given up. I have two convertible cars. Sold one of them because I can't take the pups with me. The other car is a classic-can't and won't sell it.
Sleeping over places is hard, vacations are hard. However, I found a wonderful woman that loves my two yorkies and will take them if I need to go somewhere.
My yorkies own me.

Sleep

* sleeping in late on the weekends
* shopping.. i use all my shopping money for him
* going to the gym after work, i now go home first walk feed and play and than go to the gym.
* going out after work
*staying the night at my boyfriends.. he now has to stay over my place all the time.
*taking weekend trips off the fly.. now i have to plan who is going to watch him.
* no more hangovers... he doesnt get that mommy doesnt want to get up because she had to much to drink..lol
*When i do go out .. I dont leave the house b4 1130pm and get back to my apartment by 4am (NYC PARTYING) and instead of crashing on my bed.. i take him for a walk so hopefully i can sleep til 7am..lol

with all that said... i dont regret it one bit... the plus's of having him in my life out weigh all the things that have changed or that i have given up!

Mainly just travel...we used to go off for long weekends when we just had Mac, but now with two li'l buddies I feel like its too much work to leave them with "grandma"...

I've also given up being alone...hubby works nights(shift work) and the kids are grown...
