What have I had to give up since I became Maggie's mom?

A good nights sleep. She wakes me up every night to be taken outside.

Extra spending money, which now goes to her grooming, and other needs.

Going out on a whim. She requires supervision, so I am always having to plan before I do anything.

Though it sounds like so much, Maggie has given me companionship that I have needed. I moved to a new state and I had no friends here. Maggie has been the best friend possible.

I have only given up sleeping in. I have gained so much with the love of the yorkies and the Biewers....

I have given up:
* going out without feeling guilty;
* taking random trips;
* spending money on myself;

I have received:
* the best buddy ever;
* the best welcome home present every day;
* a cuddle bug in my bed and on my couch;
* bags of doggie clothes;
* a grooming kit to rival the best;
* a desire to get another yorkie!!

Oh, yes:

I've given up my faith that park grass is reasonably clean, and if you don't have a picnic blanket, or shoes, it's no big deal. Seeing the focus with which my 4 pounder sprinkles across acres of park ground, I now know: if it's in the park, there's probably pee on it. Ditto mail boxes, trees, sign posts, front steps, flower beds... IT'S ALL PEE.
