I also have the Shark steam mop. It works great. I also got the attachment so that you are able to steam the carpet. Haven't tried that yet, but I can't wait!

I think I got the premium mop or something it came with 5 or 6 washable pads, the carpet glide thingy, and a longer cord.

I stopped using my wet jet, because it wasn't getting my floor clean at all. I'd have to scrub the floor after using it and sometimes the cleaning solution would leave sticky spots.

Truthfully using any chemicals in your house isn't safe. I clean with vinegar, smells funny for a little while but it's safe & cleans good.

I got the steamboy T1 from ebay, it works wonders

You know, I often check out stories like this from emails on Snopes. I guess I was too emotionally involved - worried about my doggie!! Thanks for checking it out.

I think we should still be careful about things like this, though. I worry other times about different household cleaners. Lexi is most interested in the toilet when I am cleaning it!

Yeah, I don't know much truth is in this Swifter thing, but I guess we have to judge for ourselves. I personally don't use it, and clean most things with hot water and vinegar. It's not only cheap, but very safe for everyone.

(Urbana, IL) May 6, 2004 -- Veterinary toxicologists at the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center have reviewed the claim described in a widely distributed email alleging a relationship between the use of Swiffer Wet Jet and liver failure in a dog. The email alleges that exposure to the ingredients in Swiffer Wet Jet caused a dog's death.

The Swiffer Wet Jet system contains water (90-100%), propylene glycol n-propyl ether or propylene glycol n-butyl ether and isopropyl alcohol (1-4%). These ingredients are safe to use around pets when used according to label directions and would not cause liver damage at product concentrations. Propylene glycol n-butyl/propyl ether differs significantly from ethylene glycol, the potentially toxic ingredient present in most antifreeze products. Ethylene glycol is frequently implicated in causing renal failure in dogs following antifreeze ingestion. Propylene glycol n-propyl ether and propylene glycol n-butyl ether are very safe ingredients at levels used in cleaning products and do not cause kidney or liver failure.

I have the Thane H2O mop and I LOVE it! I actually bought it before we got our puppy, but I have four children and was worried about all of the chemicals for them! It was somewhat expensive, but has paid for itself a million times over! No chemicals just steam!
