| Hi Twinkle and Twinkle's Mom! Good luck! We had both our babies done on the 5th. Honestly, Mom is probably waaaay more nervous than puppy!!! Are you going to be home for two days afterwords with her? Good luck, and don't worry, it was so much less scary than I had thought it was going to be. Literally, the next day, the girls wanted to wrestle, climb furniture and run up and down the stairs. So the most challenging part was keeping them still. "Luckily" it has been in the -20's (C) so at least they didn't want to play outside. . . Thoughts are with you today |

| Good Luck! when milu was getting spayed, i brought her bed, a blanket (which i slept with the night before so she can smell mommy when she has to stay at the vets), and her little piglet. i left those things with the vet so that when milu is waiting for surgery and when she wakes up she will have something familiar to her and not be as scared. (if you don't have a blanket, maybe your sweater or something with your scent) also, write down questions you have for the vet to ask for when you pick up twinkle. i was so nervous when i picked up milu i totally didn't remember anything they told me! (write down medicine instructions if you are forgetful like me!) GOOD LUCK!!!! XOXOXOXOXOXO

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Hello and Good morning, I had my little Prada spayed last thursday, she came home the same day, she was a bit groggy and slept a lot that day, the next day she woke up hungry and happier.. she still in antibiotics, and wearing her onesie, it worked wonderful to keep her from licking the stiches, now that the incission is healing seems to be itching a bit, so the onesie keeps her from scratching it. Your baby should come home with antibiotics and pain killers and a whole sheet of instructions, she should rest for a few days, no jumping and stuff like that. Best of luck with her surgery.. hugs, cArmen in nj |

| Our lil Maddie was just spayed on Monday. I was so nervous, mostly because of her small size. She is 2.7 lbs. I knew we were going to spay her but I was just worried if she was big enough. The vet assured me he'd spayed animals that small, though they typically like them at 3 lbs...and that anesthesia has changed so much over the years...that it would be perfectly safe for her. (of course never guarantees just like human surgeries...but I knew what he meant). She did great. She came home that morning (because we were set to have a blizzard that afternoon and the vet called and said she did so well...and I could come get her because he'd rather she be home and comfy with us than stuck at the clinic overnight where nobody staffs it. Maddie slept all afternoon/night and snuggled with us. The next day she wasn't as groggy but was still a little sleepy...had a lil bit of a loose stool....but her appetite picked up and things became more normal as the day went on. Wednesday, she was back to her old self. It's hard to keep her from jumping...she's tearing around here like the spunky crazygirl that she is! =] Our vet doesn't prescribe antibiotics following spay...only if there are other problems. She was sent home with some pain reliever in a syringe that I have had to give her for 3 days following. She's a lil trooper and has done great through all of this. I agree that we, as parents, are far more worked up about it than our lil babies are! I'm glad we did it and that its over! Good luck! |

| Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and Twinkle (love the name!!) tomorrow. Check with your vet to see if you can leave a blanket or one of your tee-shirts with her so that she'll have that comfort from home with her. Please let us know when you have an update.

She slept in our bedroom in her crate and she woke me early so I took her in the garden and she did a pee!(another sigh of relief!) within 24 hrs she looked like her normal self..she didn't so much as look at her incision it all couldn't have gone any smoother..she also had 7 baby teeth removed, nails trimmed and microchipped while under the anaesthesia. I will be thinking of you tomorrow..and i'll check in on this thread!

| Thanks everyone for all your love and well wishes! I have to take her in at 8.30am and they'll call me when I can come and get her. Luckily I work from home so she won't be on her own while she's recovering, also she's not a tiny girl so that eliminates a bit of the worry. I'll let everyone know how she gets on Good luck to Mimi too xx xxx xxx
