Squirrels driving him crazy!

Gizmo is not a fan of squirrels either. lol! He chases them from one window in the house to another. He thinks he's so big and bad! I tried making the squirrels "go away", but he nosed his way through the blinds and broke them! He will stop when I shake the can at him, but it starts right up again at the next squirrel siting!

If you train your baby to quietly ask to be let out, I think all your problems will be solved. I have blinds I can close so he cannot see them anymore and it doesnt work. He has figured out a way to get between the blinds and the window (I have full length windows) and still see out. Training works better.

I think I will try to get him to settle down when he sees the squirrels, and then go out and chase them after I (as pack leader?) have decided that they should be chased. Sound good?

I'm scared to death of him catching one--don't they have really sharp claws? How else would they climb straight up a tree? I don't think the squirrels have babies that he can reach--hope the squirrels don't think he can reach them either--I think they would be aggressive then.

I doubt he'd be able to catch a squirrel... they are really fast. My old dog was like killer kujo when it came to other animals the only thing that survived the backyard was a squirrel that lived in the tree in our yard... everything else, including birds (she'd jump in mid air to get it) was a goner.

Scooter has been trying since the day I got him to catch a squirrel and has yet to succeed. Don't go in the backyard with your guy..I always watch him from my window. The tiff between your baby and the squirrel is way more exciting (for them) and funny (for you) if you let them go back and forth. If you interrupt, the squirrel will run off and your baby will give you a look you will never forget (how dare you ruin my fun!!). I have some pictures that I will post tomorrow (not on this computer) of Scooter vs. the squirrel.
