| ![]() I like you're thinking, and actually thought about doing that but I already told the fostermom that the hubby wasn't into the idea so I don't want to make her think that I'm wasting her time. Plus it will only crush me more when he still won't agree to it.

| ![]() I thought about that too - just adopting him... But the rescue wants the family to visit them first, then they come to inspect your home. I couldn't possibly hide the fact that I live by myself with all of his stuff around. I should just realize that it's not gonna work out... So sad...

| ![]() Rescue dogs do not have to be "damaged" We've had great and wonderful times with all 5 of our rescues. Show him my pictures, 3 older dogs and 2 youngsters but not pups.

| ![]() Deegans Mom, My Toby was a petfinder pup. My husband wasn't ready for a dog, he wasn't over the loss of our Lab. I spent 2 days on petfinder, just reading all the dogs stories,I found my little boy and couldn't stop thinking about him. I made a phone call on Saturday morning. I figured if it was meant to be, then it would happen. My husband overheard my conversation, and said no. I had to cancel the appt. I had made to go see him that afternoon, and tell the foster Mom my husband wasn't ready. Three days later Dh said I could call and see if Toby was still available. Two weeks later Toby was living large at our house! I am so thankful to have this little man,(and my big man) and my husband is as in love with Toby as I am. Fill out the application. If it's right it will happen. |

![]() ![]() I think you should work on him a little more. Tell him company is coming and he needs to shave and put on clean underwear. ![]() ![]()

| ![]() I adopted Fritzel two years ago. He came into the shelter as a stray. He was about 2 years old. He had broken bones and was full of ticks and had sticks stuck in his hair. I adopted him and he recovered very fast. He was terrified of everything and everyone but me. He is still not social. He hides when people come over but loves other dogs and cats. Here is a picture of him the day he came into the shelter and now. Then we got Darla from an ad on Craigslist. We have had her for about 6 months. She was not used to living with other animals and it took her a while to adjust. She doesn't like to share her things and everyone else's things are hers too. She loves Fritzel but still gets snappy sometimes. I think adopting is the best choice. There are so many purebred dogs in shelters and rescues that need homes. I think adopted animals are grateful and loyal to their new families.
