No Longer a Member | If Furbutts are so cold nature, then why do they go out side and just stand? Ok Gang, Can anyone tell me why if our little furbutts are so cold nature, why do they just stand outside in the freezing cold and look around? When I take Chloe outside to potty, she goes out and looks around, walks around, sniffs everything and shakes from being so cold. Then she stands on 3 legs because she doesn't want her feet to be cold. Why can't she just sniff and then go potty in about 30 seconds? Why does it always have to be between 15 and 20 mins? (Can I beat my head against a brick wall)? |

| I have a Chloe too. She loves to go for walks outside and stare ( and bark ) at Christmas lights. She looks so cold to me even bundled in her winter coat....When I think she is getting to cold I bring her in and she goes right back to the door wanting out . Does she not understand It's COLD outside !!! She is potty pad trained so when we go for walks she pees really quick , I think she thinks she is getting away with something by peeing outside

| I know! Mine go out there and eat the snow. Sammy is like Calvin from Calvin & Hobbes. She doesn't like the spot we shovel for her so *trudge trudge trudge* she walks through the snow almost making a tunnel since it's almost over her head. Then after 10 minutes of me standing in the door calling them back she stands there and lifts 1 paw and looks at me like, I'm cold now come get me! Loki is very efficient he pees and come right back, but he does like to lick the snow

| Rocky is the same way! It's freezing, and he still takes his sweet time finding a spot to potty, then after that (about 5 mins) he tries to go for a walk and refuses to walk back in the house!

| I wonder the same thing about Gracie Ruth and Yogi. They both love to be outside no matter what the weather. Rain, cold, heat. About the only thing they don't seem to care too much for is the wind. Really? The wind guys? I've started having to send them out one at a time because I can't get them to focus on pottying and coming back in if they are both outside. Boo, however, will turn around in mid-stride as soon as his nose hits the outside air if he perceives any 'adverse' weather condition at all. And he's got the heaviest coat of the 3. lol

| I had to actually pick mine up and bring her outside last night! ...sometimes she will pee in the shoveled snow section or she will go through the snow to find her special spot and then when she is doing her business tries to lift her paws up and almost falls down sometimes. my sheltie however LOVES the snow and will trot around in it and play ..

Last night our pretty 6 inches of snow turned into a gigantic sheet of ICE. What does sammy do? She goes out and stands on top of a shrub that is completely encased in ice. She must have been amazed at what she could see from there!

| My genius dog If the grass is wet Loki pees with his 2 back feet on the sidewalk, 1 paw on the wet grass and 1 paw lifted. Then he backs out and runs back with only 1 soggy paw.
