| Some people make me so mad! As some of you might remember, I live in quiet, peaceful Canada. While reading the local newspaper tonight, I came across three ads in the "lost and found" section of the classifieds. 1) Disappeared from (address), July 28, YORKIE dog. Loved by owner and people in neighbourhood of St. George's Church. Call Fr. Jaggs (phone number) or Joey (phone number). Reward Stands. Due for medicine NOW. {I happen to remember that the reward is $1000} 2) I find it appaling that someone would not return the Yorkie to it's rightful owner & St. George's Church & the kids in the community. 3) We want our Yorkie home. We know where you are. Return ASAP or do we need to have him picked up. Terribly missed. ********* So, I tried calling and got no answer. There was no answering machine. I feel heartbroken and want to do something to help. Here are my thoughts; If they truly know where the dog is, they can call the police and charge that person with theft. They can call the newspaper and see if they're interested in doing a human interest story, complete with pictures. They can call the local yorkie rescue and alert them to the facts. They can call their vet and have them question anyone who comes in with a "new" yorkie. They can post flyers at Petsmart and even get some of the local kids to deliver them all over the neighbourhood where the dog lived. I would start the flyer with something like "does your neighbour have a new dog?" They can call the Humane Society and (see yorkie rescue, above). They can call the local news. My daughter is a reporter. You can BET that when she gets home she's gonna get an earful of how important it is to get this exposed to the public (imagine if it was one of MY babies!) Does anyone have any other ideas? I'm going to keep calling back until I can talk to someone at the house. I was even thinking of bringing my two babies over for a visit. I'm sure that the owner(s) would appreciate it. The NERVE of some people.

| You offering to help is so very thoughtful and kind. This owner might be a senior citizen or ?? and has limited mobility of ways to getting the word out. I hope you get in touch with the owner and that this Yorkie finds his way home very soon. Calling the local radio stations I have found the D.J's to be more then helpful spreading the word of a lost/stolen pet.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | That's a weird ad. I'd keep calling to get the real story. It was either a typo that meant to say We WANT TO know where you are, or it's a family matter. Maybe an ex who ran off with the dog. But anyone willing to place an ad in the paper ought to be willing to do whatever it takes to get their dog returned.

| update I talked to the yorkie owner. According to his side of the story, it involves the (highly corrupt) police department. Apparently a girlfriend of the brother of a detective told alot of people that she "is gonna steal that dog". She has a dalmation and is rumoured to be a "drinker". This opened up a can of worms. It involves a court case (charging the detective because he doesn't know the girlfriend's last name) and it's gonna take me HOURS to hunt these people down. If it's the death of me, I'm gonna do it. I have (a very little) legal training under my belt. I have to be very careful as I've dealt with this "police force" before and am familiar with their "pack". The yorkie is 1.5 years old and is 10 lbs!!! Godspeed!!!

| Yes well done - but please be sure to get other sides of the story as hers could be colored by her experiences. Good luck!
