| Bad Dreams????? My new rescue dog Sam who is 5 years old does this thing when he is sleeping, I can only describe it as a bad dream he breathes very hard and whines and cries. Its very dramatic and he dosent wake up easliy when its going on. He's a very independant dog and never whines so Ive always thought it was weird. I feel so bad when it happens and it happens about once a week. My new rescue foster also does this exact same thing. She has done it 3 times in the 1st week Ive had her. Its not like a dream when they are moving their legs and making sound its so loud and dramatic it wakes me and my husband up at night. I had my 1st yorkie Maggie for 16 years and she never did this, Ive started to wonder if it really is a bad dream from their past. Does anyone have babies that do this?

| Aw, that is so sad. Maybe they'll start having better dreams now that they're with you. My puppy will bark and sometimes whine a little when he is sleeping, but nothing dramatic at all. I wonder sometimes what he is dreaming about... |

| Poor baby probably lived a nightmare. Hopefully, when he figures out that he's safe they will subside. |

| My little Annie B had bad dreams after I first rescued her. She was a breeder at a puppy mill. They got fewer and farther apart as time went on. But her's were never as serious sounding as these. I hesitate to say, but could these actually be some type of seizure? The not waking up easily is a red flag to me. I would encourage you to discuss this with your vet and see if there is anything that can be tested for. I hope I'm wrong, but I feel I needed to point this possibility out. Keep us informed about what's going on and please post pictures of your "kids" when you can.
