I'm so sorry...I can relate to how you are having a hard time looking at her face - I imagine I would feel the same way. Give it some time...both of you will heal. So sorry....

thats so sad, but whats important is that inside her, there's still that same little heart which can give you all the love in the world.

You can be strong. She is looking to you for comfort. If you don't look at her she is going to feel something is wrong. She is your baby. If your mom had not been there where would Sophie be? Yes you would have been strong enough to take her for help. You can do it. Hopefull it heals quickly. (They say the eye is the quickest part to heal. ) Giving you prayers, you will find strength. I am so sorry this happened. I will keep you and Sophie in my thoughts and prayers. I know it's hard , but day by day you both will heal and get stronger...(((( hugs))))

awww sweetie, this is traumatizing for you and for her. I know you love her unconditionally and you will be able to put this behind you soon. I don't think you horrible at all, now if you give her up, maybe! Im sure you wouldn't do that too. Remember she is hurt and probably scared and needs her mommy. She is still your sweet Sophie and you need to be strong for her until she readjusts. Make sure she knows you love her with all your heart no matter what.

I can understand how you are feeling. I think anyone of us would feel so bad for Sophie and she will heal and be fine, it may take longer for you to adjust to her new look. It must be so traumatic to see your baby this way, but she will always be your baby. Give yourseslf time to adjust, you are not a horrible person just a mom who wants her baby to be whole again. I know in time the pain and trauma will recede and your baby will still be your baby. Hugs

Awww honey, not looking at her does not make you a bad mommy only
a loving one. I can only imagine how tramatic this must have been for you
as well as Sophie. I am glad it's over and she came through surgery fine.
I am sure she only cares about being the love of your life and being
snuggled up with you. Give yourself a day or two. Thank the good
Lord she came through this incident and you still have her to hold on to.
The hair will cover her eye and she will do fine with your love and guidance.
