I love taking Austin out in the stroller Some guys will give me weird looks but most of them come say hi to Austin. I have more of a problems with other woman giving me filthy looks or making comments. | |

| Thor's Human Donating Member | If it's any comfort, I think the stereotype is oriented towards cats. I am single, and one of my friends FORBADE me to get a cat until I was married. She said I would look like a crazy cat lady. Most guys like dogs, and as others have said, would you want a guy who didn't? I can see maybe a guy not being thrilled with a yorkie because it's not a "masculine" dog. And of course, some guys might feel threatened because the yorkie is smarter than they are. |

| I think cats are a better indicator of whether a dude is "the right stuff" or not. A lot of dogs love everybody. It seems like less men like cats than dogs, and if my cat loves the guy I bring home (and the feeling is mutual) it means to me that he's probably a really good person. They're a discerning bunch. ![]() PS: I don't think you qualify for "crazy cat lady" until you have at least three. And live alone. I grew up with three cats and two dogs, so I'm just used to having all of them around. My house would feel naked without pets. |

| I am married but I would think having dogs could be a great way to meet people! Like at the pet store or dog park or any other dog friendly place in your town. You could ask your dog day care person or dog walker if any of your fur babies friends have nice single daddies ![]() Or maybe even meet some one right here on this thread!! You may have better luck finding some one nice here than at a bar! [ Although that is were I met my husband who had a Lab! ] |

| Yes, well check out that video link I posted at the beginning all, thats what made me paranoid!! LOL!! As for cats, I always thought the cat lady stereotype was worse then dogs, but according to that video, apparently not!! As for the masculinity of my dogs, I also have a Cavalier King Charles who is nice and sporty and loves fetch at the park!! LOL. Ella Bean actually runs up to men at the dog park and they always pick her up and cuddle her! I think she has a way with men...I could learn a thing or two from my princess! I do think that the dogs make me more social but I all the men at the park are either with their girlfriends...or GAY!!!!!! LOL...who knows...I will learn how to do 'single' I suppose. Well, I like being single at home, where I can cuddle with my pups!

| I am single too. I am 23, so my mom tells me I have plenty of time. *hurl* I have not had good luck finding decent men to date. They are all little boys in my opinion who want mommies. Not going to happen! My dating habits haven't changed since I brought Strawberry home 2 months ago....those habits being not dating! Haha...I too find it hard to find a decent date. So I just don't bother. But if I do date someone and they have an issue with me loving my baby (way more then them for ever most likely) then they can take a hike! Haha. And if I turn into 'crazy dog lady' in the future then so be it!

I am just nervous, since I have never really been single. And about all men being little boys, long story short, my husband left me FOR HIS MOM!!!!!! She is PAYING for his lawyer and he is living with her again. UNACCEPTABLE!!!

| Haha...it is like they leave one mommy to find another! Very sad. Not all men...but most. I don't want to diss the few that are good...but I meet those ones so rarely and they are usually married and 80 years old.

| Yeah, I will say, it has made it easier to deal with the breakup of the marriage that he is such a loser....

| I wouldn't do one of those things because they might want to steal your dog...but yeah having dogs affects my dating! I'd much rather be with them than out and about! And clubs and bars are out of the question---I can't have my puppies sitting in the dark wondering where I am... And if I dated seriously, that would mean more time away from them...which would make me sad? I have to get over it though---it will be bad if I hit my thirties without a real relationship. And the pups would be happy to have a daddy

Also---I spend so much time with my dogs that I baby talk....and sometimes I babytalk my friends... lol I don't really go out to socialize---because of my dogs. I mean, I used to be very outgoing.... maybe I should take Chachi out more. Guys like him. They laugh at my poodles Izze is scared of young guys---if it were up to her I'd be dating a geezer.

| I'm a borderline agoraphobe/introvert anyway, so bring on the housedogs. Like Ace Ventura says, "I don't do humans." ![]() (Well sometimes...but I always kick them out the next day...) |
