| petland.... is opening up here in Sacramento...I can't believe it, I had never heard about them until I went to Texas, then I learned about their puppymill puppies here at YT..This morning I heard a commercial on the radio that said on their opening day, the first 100 people in the door will get $100 off of a puppy...

| sickening isn't it. I had 3 petlands in our area and they all closed (makes me wonder where all those pups went :-(...) they ask a rediculous amount of money for their dogs, finance them, and adopt from back yard breeders and mills... rediculous.

| I went in one once. They have some nice items that I would probably buy, but I absolutely refuse to support stores that sell puppies. I had a bit of a falling out with my SIL over my conviction to not shop them. Went to visit her and she was all excited to take me to their new pet store, raving all about the great things they had. When we got there and I saw that they sold puppies I told her I would wait in the car if she wanted to shop, but that I couldn't even go in, let alone consider spending money there. My SIL lives in a small town and it's quite a drive to the nearest big town that has a pet store so I'm sure she was very happy when this one opened. But my sweet Annie was a rescue breeder from a puppy mill and I lost her too soon because of the care, or actually lack of care, that she received her first 5 years. This is something I feel very strongly about and I would feel that I was demeaning Annie's memory if I helped these types of stores by buying products from them. Even if you don't buy the puppies, buying the products they sell helps them to stay in business. 1) Annie B. "What are we going to do today, Momma?"

YT 2000 Club Member | We have one here in NY and they advertise all over the TV and in the newspapers and are always taking hundreds of dollars of thier highly overpriced pups. . Petland is where my cousin got her boxer from, she has huge behavioral issues.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | A quick google search on petland will provide TONS of information and the puppymills where they get their animals. Until people STOP purchasing from pet stores and commerical breeders...the market will always be there.

| My landlord bought a puppy from petland a couple weeks ago, but she did it because it was about to die, she couldn't walk away so she got him for only around $1-200 I can't remember but it was extremely low for Petland and she took him to the vet immediately and made Petland pay all the vet bills which was a couple thousand. I was surprised Petland actually paid them that quick but they didn't argue it at all. I'm just glad that poor baby is ok. I don't support them at all, I don't go into Petland anymore now that I know about them but i'm glad my landlord walked in there that day, It breaks my heart to hear how they treat the animals, that's why I stay out of there so I don't see it, I would go broke buying all the puppies that are sick and trying to fix them.

| this link from the US Humane Society allows you to send a personal message to Petland Headquarters...it also allows you to send this link to friends so that fellow dog-lovers can participate in this campaign. Oh the things I'd like to say in my message.... https://community.hsus.org/campaign/..._source=gabhbt take action and help educate consumers about buying from pet shops like Petland and commercial breeders. SO MANY people have no idea...

| I HATE hearing a dog is 'ON Sale' or you can get a 'Coupon' on a living being. It disgusts me. I know that people breed pets and sell them, but to hear they are on sale just disgusts me. It makes me think about the value of a life and how some think that some lives are more valuable than others.

| unfortunatly I bought on of my yorkies from a petland (this was before I got educated here) After everything I've seen and heard here I feel bad for buying her from there and l'm very lucky that she has no health problems. I'm glad we have her and I wouldn't trade her for anything but I agree they are bad bad places. The one we bought her from went out of business two months after we bought her. |

| I stopped going to Petland too because I realized my going in to just look was helping them keep their doors open. I googled them and found lots of information in the past. Such as one of the biggest PUPPY MILLS petland buys from is here The Hunte Corporation - Providing the happiest, healthiest puppies around just take a look and see for yourself. Not to mention that Hunte gets grants from the USDA. As we all know they are the ones inspecting facilities. Sounds like a conflict of interest to me. |
