| Where can I take Maija? So I have been wondering where are places I can take my little girl, besides Petsmart and Petco? I really want to take her everywhere with me, BUT I don't want to have to be turned aways because I have her, that could hurt her feelings. So where are some places you take your furbabies?

| Layla goes in Michaels with no problem and Home depot- She's been to a shoe store that was not in the mall. Anywhere that basically has no food should be fine. I've seen dogs in strollers in the mall when we are in Florida- so i guess they are allowed in some malls but there is a sign on our mall that says no dogs |

| Good post!!! I think that's an excellent question. I've seen dogs beeing walked at a mall in Glendale (Glendale Galleria) so maybe malls do not have a no pet policy. But I'm just assuming so. Marcerella02- When Layla goes to Michaels or Home Depot, is she in a carrier or do you walk in with her in your arms or on a leash???

| I will take Gracie with me anywhere that there isn't food being served/sold. It is the stores right to turn me away, and my decission if I want to come back and continue to shop there. A lot would depend on how I was asked to leave. Home Depot, Lowes, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Office Supply stores, retail stores not located inside a mall. However, I did read something recently about Saks allowing dogs in with their owners. G is very well behaved, kept in a purse in most stores, I am viligant about keeping an eye on her if she is down and I always have stuff with me to clean up if she should have an accident.

| For the most part... I think you can take your pup anywhere that does not stock or carry food items. That's considered a health risk, ya know. Also, I tend to carry Meka when Im in a store because its safer that way. And, some stores dont mind...however if they see a dog walking on a leash in a store... they get concerned about potty accidents & also if something happens to your pup in their store, they could be found liable (just like with humans)... But, Ive taken Meka to a mall, target, pet stores... you name it

| I took Baxter briefly inside at Walmart but went in through the Garden Ctr. and stayed in that area with him in my arms. |

| I think they are pretty much allowed anywhere if there isn't food. I plan to take him to my mall one day, as I always see dogs when I go shopping. I brought him in a school supply store and they didn't mind. If you carry them it should be fine. Vanessa |

| I personally feel uncomfortable taking my babies into "people stores". I have done it a time or two and even though no one said anything I was on edge and wasn't even able to really concentrate on my shopping. I prefer to take them only to places that are centered all around them so that my full attention can be paid instead of me shopping or whatever else I'm doing. I've heard many take their pets to home depot, but there's a sign at ours that says no pets, at the bottom of the door, so you may want to check. |

| Well this weekend I tried it with Maija... we went into Gamestop and Blockbuster, shopping with DH of course. It went well. I should be getting a carrier soon and will try taking her other places just to get her out sometimes. Thanks for all the replies.

| There are a lot of stores here in AL that do not allow any animals except service dogs, so I think it's up to the discretion of individual stores... I am going to start looking around to see what kind of places I CAN take Ollie though, since I would like him with me as often as possible. Last edited by Bhikku; 11-24-2008 at 12:09 PM. |

| The only time I've been turned away was in Super Target...only because there is a Taco Bell inside and it's a health hazard. The funny part about the incident was that the manager asked me if he was a seeing eye dog. Really? The dog peeking his head out of my purse? You've gotta be kidding me.... |

| i took milu to the movie theater one time, and no one knew that she was there, but i was so nervous the whole time i couldnt enjoy the movie! ( i had to feed her treat after treat the whole time because i was afraid she would start crying...) and she almost went nuts when the guy sitting next to me started eating beef jerky. she kept trying to jump in his lap to share the beef jerky!
