| My girls sleep with me! Wouldn't have it any other way. They must be part cat, cuz, if they think they are dirty in anyway (paws/and after going potty), they clean themselves. The exception is their bum, I clean that as needed.

| Chip sleeps under the covers by my feet all night long. Don't worry.

| We were afraid to let Zoe sleep with us until the last 2 or 3 weeks. She'll be 4 months old tomorrow. She is so good when it comes to sleeping in her crate. She's happy whether in her crate, in bed with us or starting in bed and ending up in the crate. The only time she even offers a whimper is when it's time to go outside to be a 'good girl'. We have one of those low design mock platform beds with the 4" lip all the way around the mattress and she can jump up on the bed using that lip quicker than you can blink your eyes. She also jumps up on the couch rather handily these days but I always try to pay attention to when she wants down so she doesn't have to jump down. She is so precious!! We are really enjoying her. We got one of those play pens for her when we first got her. Right now she's not in it much except to take a nap or for 'time out', so we have moved it over in a corner next to a sofa arm. Lo and behold, if someone comes to visit or if one of us is just getting home, she literally flat foot jumps over the top of that pen onto the arm of the sofa and comes running to greet us. I was astounded the first time I witnessed that. It's so funny though...I don't think she realizes she can do it anytime she wants to. She just does it when she's so excited that it comes naturally. <grin> |

| Trixie sleeps with me. She gets a bath often because she is always out with me, and her facial hair gets derty much worse than her but. Yet, between my four year old, who also sleeps with me, and my husband, I think my dog is the cleanest of all. You just have to wash the sheets often.

| All three dogs sleep with me, as well as, my three year old daughter. Sometimes the dogs are cleaner than the child when they come to bed. I never think about how sanitary it is, unless they've been out in the rain or water and come back in wanting to get in the bed. In that instance, I have blankets especially for them to lay on and I just cover the bed. I have to agree, I change the bed weekly. I am fortunate with my Chin, that they don't need weekly baths. Their coats are such that a good brushing gets out the dirt and the smell, so I really only have to brush her before bed. My Chihuahua mix is about the same. A good brushing solves it for her too. Unless they are kenneled, there is no way to keep them out of the bed with me and I have to say I love waking up next to them. Kali (Chin) acts all stuck up the next day if she doesn't sleep in the bed with me and Jennie (Chihuahua mix) acts like she's not loved anymore and the world is coming to an end. It makes her even needier the next day, if that is possible with a Chi lol. Allie Bear gets up in the bed next to my pillow and doesn't move until I get up. I think it is the cutest thing. Every so often I wake up and both kids and all three dogs are crowding me in the bed. Those nights, I wake up feeling like I went to bed in the desert with a goose down comforter, but who can complain with so much love in the bed lol. |

| I have always shared the OP's opinion on germs so Humps is not allowed to sleep in the bed with us. That said, he is allowed to take naps in bed with me or his dad. We just put a small blanket on the bed put him on the blanket and ask him to lay down there and stay. He gets his paws and bottom washed everynight before bed. |

| Actually the best way to stay healthy is expose yourself to germs...i know it sounds crazy but this is how your body builds up immunities....i wouldnt worry about it unless it's poop or dead animals that they're stepping in =)

| I didn't read the whole thread...but I just wanted to add, Mojo and LilyGrace both sleep in my bed...they won't sleep anywhere else....unless LilyGrace decides to go to my DD's bed....Mojo has gotten in the habit of NOT sleeping UNLESS some part of him is touching me...and I have gotten to where I can't sleep if I can't feel him! (dirty or not, I want my little Mojo with me at night)!

| Matty and Kalina sleep with us every night. They wouldn't know what to do if we didn't let them in bed with us. I love having them nearby all night long - call me crazy.
