I am not the typical college kid...I study hard as I want to get me masters in four years and do not party...occasionally I have friends over but do not go out alot. I stay at my boyfriends apt usually once a week but his apt complex is also pet friendly so my lil girl can go too...Does anyone else have a yorkie and is student? Any tips?

No Longer a Member | You are not crazy. I have my Hooks and I am in my junior year planning on heading into Law school. It makes school easier to handle... at least for me. I got mine around a break time and was able to truly bond with him before I had to go back to school on a regular basis and he has adjusted fine. I take him everywhere with me and even to work since my boss loves dogs and the women I work with are fine with it. He and my shih tzu are buddies too |

Mom to Marty & Maddie Donating Member | My husband and I are both college students and we have two yorkies. We're actually able to spend more time at home with them than if we had a regular 40 hr/week jobs. It works out really well for us and the yorkies get lots and LOTS of love and attention. Good luck! |

| I think you will be glad you did. They just have a way of brightening any day, and seem to sense when you're stressed and need some loving.

| I'm in my last year (two more semesters to go!!) of graduate school. Zoe came home right before the semester started. We got used to life with her and then adjusted our school schedules to her. While I'm still in school, each of my classes are 3 hours and only once a week. I'm home way more than I'm in class and Zoe doesn't spend much time alone. Personally, I don't think I could have handled a puppy while in undergraduate. That said, as long as you set enough time for your puppy and are ready and willing than it doesn't matter what position you're in. Best of luck and welcome to YT! |

| Well I can't speak for anyone else but I am a freshmen in college and I live in an apt. and I brought my yorkie to school with me (mostly because he can't sleep without me). And I have plenty of time to play with him! But of course if I were you I would get yours over a break to bond with him/her a little! =) good luck! |

| I have 3 Yorkies and go to school. I live off campus and am not really associated with school other then going there for classes. I'm home more often (and are probably more responsible) than most working adults.

| My husband and I got our dogs (yorkie and mini schnauzer) when we transfered to a university our junior year. We our now in our first year of grad school. I do not regret having dogs while in school and believe I'm actually home with them more than if I had a 40 hr/week job. I think my babies helped keep me sane during those rough times like finals week. |

| I work full time and go to college full time. As long as you know you can handle it, then go for it.
