When your babies were neutered those teeth should have been pulled at that time! Can't understand why they didn't do that. It should have only cost you like $5.oo a tooth or so. Daizy still had 2 baby teeth and my vet pulled them while she was under. You should call your vet and ask why those teeth weren't addressed when your babies had surgery!!!

Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() I understand your worry b/c I am in the same position. I had thought of not ever getting my Daisy spayed b/c of her size. She weighs about 3.5 lbs. and she is 9 months old. She came into heat almost 2 weeks ago and believe me, if you are not planning on breeding her, I would not want to put her through this. Daisy has not been herself at all and I feel so sorry for her. I blame it all on me b/c it was my decision to not get her spayed before now. I actually have her scheduled to be spayed on November 20 and I am already worried sick, but after reading threads on here about small yorkies doing fine, it makes me feel somewhat better. Good luck & I hope you make the right decision.

| ![]() it cost around 175-250.00 in n.c, depending on how may teeth have to be pulled.

Our vet's name is Jeff Werwa and he's on Plainfield rd. I don't recall how much Wrigley's spay and teeth removal were. I would call him and ask the cost for both procedures, feel free to tell him I gave you his name, he knows us well! I really trust him completely!

| ![]() You know the horror story of the 7yr old getting pregnant? I just went through it. Daisie Mae, toy fox terrier, Never Let a male dog near her when in heat, I mean she attacked them if they came near. Well, Samson, yorkie, came to live with us and she loved him. Ended up pregnant and I had to take her to the vet yesterday for a c-section. She is 7, I will be scheduling a couple fixes. It was scary.

I would look for a vet that is knowledgable with toy dogs. Maybe call around to other breeders of toy dogs and see who they use in your area.

| ![]() I know how you feel! I have bred and been owned by Yorkies for many years and each time one goes in for any procedure I am a nervous wreck. I would suggest you talk with your vet about the proper anesthesias for these tiny ones AND that you make sure to use a vet who has an attendent on duty overnight if your baby is to stay in hospital. I prefer to bring mine home BUT often for the sake of the dog, an overnight stay is preferable. They can have IV's, pain meds and antibiotics if needed. It just depends on what you and your vet decide. Uterine and breast cancer are a real worry in unspayed females. As for teeth, I think retention of baby teeth seems to run in lines...Just my opinion and experience.. |

| ![]() I wanted you to know that I am scared too .My Suzi is 8 months old and needs to be spayed as well. Then any baby teeth pulled will be done at the same time. One thing that helps is to have A vet that you trust, and feel comfortable with .You can interview them, and ask all the questions about the procedure . Then after that, you will no doubt feel a lot better. This is what I am planning on doing. I have a great vet, but need to ask more questions in detail before scheduling the appoint. I'll probably wait until after the new year though. Being A single parent, and with the Holidays coming, it will need to wait a little longer. I'd like to have her spayed before she turns one yrs old. ![]()
