| Never buy from a petstore..those pets come from puppy mills! If you have a good breeder, they would never have to sell their puppies to a pet store. I did buy a shih tzu from one almost 11 years ago before I knew better, well, she's not full blooded shih tzu, and I was lucky that I lucked out in her, but, never again will I ever buy from one..BAD NEWS |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Do not buy your puppy from a pet store. They are from puppy mills. There are many dogs who live good, healthy lives that are from pet stores, but there are also the heartbreaks. And their mom is still back at the mill delivering litter after litter. Search "pet store" and "puppy mill" on here and it will give you a better understanding. My first yorkie, Bandit, was from a pet store. I got him when he was 10 weeks old. For the first while, he was happy and healthy. But then he started having seizures. When he was just 14 weeks old, he had to be put to sleep due to liver shunt (among other problems). It was devestating. PLEASE do not support the millers who put families and dogs through this for their own greed.

No Longer a Member | I got my Hooks from a breeder and I am extremely happy. He is healthy beyond being a little chubby. I got him when he was 8 weeks and he is now 10 weeks. I don't think there are even any petstores in my area, but I am not completely sure. I also got my shih tzu from a breeder and she wasn't very good. He was healthy physically, but he has some serious emotional issues that we had to work out. He is my baby now. |

| Hi, this is my first post here. We got our Yorkie from a pet store, but I wouldn't I would recommend it. We got Jasper when he was eight weeks old (now I know that is too early to be selling puppies) and it was a big ordeal. First of all, he was very weak when we got him. We weren't sure if he was going to be okay or not.. After a few days he was fine. He's perfectly healthy and hyper now at 14 weeks. Also if you can believe it, the store told us he was a girl... The pet store gave us a pink collar and blanket, and we picked out a girl name and bought girl doggy accessories before realizing after two days that he was a boy. For some reason, It never occurred to us to check. Anyways, we love him very much and he is adorable/playful. It's better off that he is a boy, because we have a male Miniature Schnauzer and I don't know how that would have worked out. |

| HI I got Max from a Pet store. I looked for a very long time and I was unable to find a breeder or a rescue that would adopt to me because I have Greyhounds. They did not think that I knew my dogs well enough to understand if they had a high prey drive and would hurt the "tiny" dog. I got Max when he was 6 months old...and I don't think that I could have found a better dog that fit the wants and needs that I had. He is a very healthy 4# and gets along well with ALL the dogs here. I am not one to say always get from a pet store, but they do serve a need. I have even tried to adopt from someone on here recently and was again turned down because of the Greys. So you do what you are comfortable with. And GOOD LUCK!!

| I forgot to say that i got littlebit when he was about 12 weeks old and Princess was about16 weeks old. The most i have spent in vet care so far is xrays when princess was pregnant and teeth cleanings, among the normal shots, wormings, etc. I got Chico and Jasper as soon as they were born....good health so far there too. I have been real lucky with my babies and i hope it stays that way!

| I got Ivy from a rescue but she is very shy. Ivy is the dog that had all the puppies to give the pet stores. So Please don't go to a pet store they are not good puppies and you pay as much for them as going to a breeder. Max was a rehome he is 9 months and doing great.
