Are male yorkies more affectionate?

You hit the nail right on the head with the needy thing! What is the deal? Bernie our 9 month old just whines and cries when we go to bed, and he's in OUR BED! He wants my husband to get a toy, then he wants to get down for a blanket, and this goes on and on....and my husband puts up with it. Our bed is too high for him to jump off, so hubby...puts him off to get stuff, puts him back on when he whines, this routine goes on for about 15 minutes when we go to bed.

Oh don't get me wrong, Maggie is very loving. She gives tons and tons of kisses but she just doesn't want to be cuddled and held for long periods of time. I try to hold her and she just takes off. Deegan is pretty much the same way - loves to be with & near us, loves to be held while we are walking around so he can see what's going on, but he's not much of a cuddler when we're on the couch. He'd rather nest in the blankets next to us. Once in a while he might come and lay on our laps, but for the most part he likes to lay by himself. He does however like to cuddle up next to us in bed... so it's hard for us to roll over cause he's always there!

sounds like Ramsey stays a little longer than Maggie. She's a loving dog but just not too much of a cuddler. I hope that she will grow out of that.

My daschund is a male, and he is my lap buddy. Loves to curl up on my tummy and sleep. He even watches me and waits for me to sit or lie down so he can join me.

LOL, Maggie just seems to be content with you just being in the room.

My minnie is very affectionate. I have to admit, she is a little more loving with my husband. She will lay with him for hours. She also listens to him more than me.

Pepper has to be loving on me all the time. If I lay on the couch, he will lay on my chest, licking me the entire time.
