United is now charging $125 each way & it looks like during winter mths (over the holidays) they are charging $175 ea way  - United has the best times for me. Unless I spend an extra hundred dollars on my flight & I can fly NW Air direct flights each way - but NWA has raised their pet fee to $150 each way  The best flight price is Midwest Air - but the return flight times are at the crack of dawn - no choice in times  - but their pet fee is still at $100 ea way - so is American, but their flight times are so bad. I feel like I have so little choice in travel Des Moines is so expensive to fly from. At this point it is going to cost more to fly the dogs than me

Flying The main 2 airports servicing Alexandria are Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA) and Washington Dulles International (IAD). The Sheraton offers pet friendly complimentary shuttle service to/from Reagan National Airport. If you are flying into IAD you will need to arrange for a shuttle or a taxi to the hotel. SuperShuttle's website (Welcome to SuperShuttle.com) quotes $35.00 each way to and from IAD to the Sheraton Suites Old Town. DCA is much more convenient to the Sheraton (about 8 miles) so it is the preferred airport.
