| Ears- to shave or not I have heard so much about Yorkie ears. Jasmine has a lot of hair on the inside top portion of her ears. How do I, or do I need to get it out. Someone said to pluck it out, but that sounds kinda cruel, she is just a baby (18wks) and I don't want to traumatize her. Besides she has quite a lot of hair there, I couldn't bear to pluck that many. Somebody please help me. Thanks, you guys are the greatest. Seashell |

| Well, i the inside of charlies ears, not the stuff towards the top. If you don't pluck the hair i think they are more prone to ear infections (correct me if i'm wrong). as far as shaving the backs of them that is up to you. i don't shave charlies ears because i think they look cute flopped over, and i think they are too big to stand up any way. hope this helps

| The hair on the top portion of the ears you can use small beard clippers for and just shave down..that is just to aid in the ears standing up. As for the hair in the ear you can pluck OR your vet OR groomer would be more than happy to this for you. Just please be careful with the insides of the ear..you don't want to hurt an eardrum!

| Shave the top portion of the ear in a V shape with beard clippers. Thats what I do. I like the look you can achieve ince you do this. However said about plucking doesn't know what they are talking about. How about plucking their nose hairs that is so harsh I can't imagine. Please don't even consider plucking. |

| IF your yorkie has hair growing in the inner ear canal, that hair should be plucked to avoid matting and ear infections. That is only the hair that grows in the inner ear canal. You can buy an ear powder to put on it to make it easier to pluck. Believe me, an ear infection would be more cruel than plucking the hair.

| They have a sort of fuzzy hair that comes up from the inside of their ears. You can pull it out gently with tweezers. The vet will do it, my vet said the groomer should do it, too. It does not seem to bother them at all. I have never done it myself, but have watched the vet tech do it. The top part should be shaved as stated above. I use a 1" wide pair of personal shavers - battery operated. I won't say they love it though.
