| How to get Nakisha to stop chewing up her harness I need some help here. I have had Nakisha for a month now. She is 5 mon old. She has chewed up 4 harness, What can I put on them or how can I get her to stop chewing them up. Besides take stock in the company..................LOL Deiter does the same thing and he will be 2 yrs in Nov....... I went and got new ones today. I guess I am just going to have to take them off when home and only put them on them to go out............. But I really want them to wear them all the time beings ids are on them. But I can't afford to keep buying new ones. I think Deiter has chewed up at least 20 harness since he was 12 weeks old............... And now Nakisha is on her 5th as of today. Can anybody give me ideas or help me out. I will take any kind of help..............

| Buy the Lupine brand, "guarenteed even if the dog eats it". Ive gotten about 3 now, replacement through Foster & Smith cataolg. Actually I'm embarrassed to send in the last one. I've been walking "HazelNut with a collar, I know you should'nt, but I'm in the same boat as you, at least she still has a collar on when I get her home. |

| Oh man I have the same problem. Maybe someone will have advice??? My pup is 10 months old, and I cannot leave the harness on him alone or else he chews them up. I resorted to using just the step in kind, and whenever I see that at target in the $1, 2.50 section, I'll buy a bunch. Apparently though, I didn't buy enough. I bought 3 extra, thinking that it would last, but every now and then, I would accidentally leave on the harness, and then before you know, its chewed into and broken. I'm on my last one now.

| put their ID on a collar and put collars on them at all times (except when you are not there to watch them, you dont want them to get caught and choke on the collar) and take the harnesses off when you are not going for a walk. This allows them to have ID tags on and they can't chew the harness. My boys went through like a million harnesses also and they still go to chew on them. I just say "NO" and they stop but I know what you mean, we went from blue to red to green to purple and now we are on black! LOL

| Here's my advice....Have you tried a Puppia or something similar?? Kobi has probably chewed up 10+ harnesses in his less than two years , and I'm dumb enough to keep trying! But now all he wears is his Puppia ALL THE TIME, and he can't chew it Maybe you've already tried these, but I know for sure he can't get it in his mouth These little brats!!!! Oh, Puppia's run about $20 (search for them here or eBay), but they're well worth it. Also, if you can't find them, they recently changed their name to ipuppyone (same brand)...Good luck

| If you want to put something on the harness, saturate it with bitter apple and let it dry, or, rub on some gel antiperspirant. Both taste really nasty and should help break the habit.

| I have collars and harness for Fiona, when we first got her, I stupidly left her harness on in her crate all day, and when my boyfriend came home, he called, and told me she totally chewed it to pieces....so one word of advise....if you use a crate, DONT LEAVE THE HARNESS ON! You can also try putting bitter apple spray on it, so it doesn't taste to good!

YT 2000 Club Member | Our Axl likes to chew his too. I put bitter Apple on it when I catch him and it seems to stop him. I will have to try the antiperspirant on it next time, we alway's have that in our house.

| How are the puppia harness on tangling and matting. If I leave harnesses on my kids, their hair gets sooooooo incredibly matted. |

| My minnie used to always chew her harness, and then one day she just stopped at about 8 months old. Now at least we can keep it on her when we are home - makes it so much easier to take her outside to potty.

| I was going to try one of these. But not if they matt. Bobby has chewed through all of his harnesses so far. Only one has worked, a step in harness i got when he was a little puppy. But it matts his hair terribly. Has anyone tried the vest harnesess? I wonder if they can chew through those, or if they matt. |
