| My little baby's heart! Hi everyone. I'm new to this site, but I have a very important question to put out there. I have two yorkies. Both of them will be three next month. My little one has developed complete heart block!! I live in south Florida, and my cardiologist is making arrangements for me to take her up to the University of Florida, to have a pacemaker put in. Since this all just happened, it's not congenital. They have found no underlying cause, so they believe it is most likely hereditary. Has anyone else ever faced this problem in a yorkie so young? And so small ... she only weighs 5 1/2 pounds! I have to be honest, I'm petrified, and any input would be appreciated. |

| I have nothing to offer except my prayers for your little one. I would be terrified if it were one of mine. Hopefully, someone on YT will see this that can offer some advice or encouragement. There are many miracle babies here, so never give up. The power of YT prayers is a miracle in itself. Please keep us updated with her progress.

I think your questions would be better answered in the Emergency and Sick Forum as there are very knowledgable members then. Maybe you should ask administation to move your post to kind the help you are looking for.

| I want to thank everyone who is wishing us well, and sending their prayers. It means a lot. I want to especially thank "tdavis". Hearing someone else has had a good experience at UF with their puppy, helps. So far, we have an appointment on Monday morning, to get things started. The docs are still trying to decide the best way to go forward, because of her size. I'll keep you posted, and if anyone out there has any experience with this, please let me know. : ) |

I hope you find your answers in the Sick and Emergency Section. Please post some pictures of your little ones. I'm sorry that you came to us while in a medical crisis. There are many, many wonderful and very well informed people here that are willing to share their knowledge and support.
