Growl is just like when you Captiall a I WILL NOT or NO in your posts that all it is. You have to look atthe big picture when taking trainingyour dog maybe just fine with not bein able to growl but the dog of the person you are advising is not ok with that at all. You have advised to stop the grr and noe have casues a possible bite to happen. BIG picturs is always better then the little picture. JL | |

| It keeps coming back to dogs are not people and must be treated differnt and I keep saying all that is differnt is the language. What your not seeing is that dogs, cats, frogs, birds are their own soicety. No differnt in looking at japeness , chinese, english, french, spanish or any other soiciety with ther own understanding of the way the world runs and their own language. When we stop seeing differnt beings as being so differnt to use it easy to work with them then agains. Prejdice starts be not seeing how we are alike and it makes it easy to be less repsectful and kind and take or time to understand and learn. As I said I putting out ideas that for the first time you may just be seeing and it a little concerning that what one thought one know is well not as it onece was do to mew training and learning. Until 1999 all studies of our dogs stopped as to many thought we had it and the first studies appiled where that of wolves... totally wrongly appilied. Since 1999 there has been a great deal of work done on our dogs and it taken time to get from the university to the main streets and well now it here and comeing so either openm up and learn or not as one choices. When someone saids that is a lot like "training dogs is like practicing medicine... so much information and different ideas and methods to choose from.. i wish we could keep it simple i say read all you can and use all the tools available.. be prepared to make mistakes.. and learn from them.. everyone is in a different situation and different breeds to train small dogs are different still learning every day..." Yes I learn every day and man I make mistakes and I made a great deal when I first started and my first dog packs the metal marks of it. Just like things in the medical world changes so does this with study. Once it was ok to own slaves and beat ones wife and child as they had no rights and were thought as less cause well they are not men..... hummm sound like how we tend to talk about our dogs they ae less cause________???? excuse to not treat them well and with respect adn guidence not as we think they are but as they really are. When we train we train in a brain it does not matter what it is in and that brain and what we do with it is a great responsibility to it as it a life time of concern if we do it wrong. When we know better we do better... I love to learn to do better all the tiime and stopping at oh it always been done this way or it works does not make it the right choice. Yes it is the wrong choice if you hitting and or pushing your fingres in their throat or only saying NO instead of teach that which you want instead. When you have spent the number of years I have in on working a very mentally damaged little dog do to a bad start and gentic concerns the easy roll her method or tell her know have killed her. To many dogs that end up with aggression ae gentically breed wrong or undersocialized or not trained or trained the wrong way. I have worked with normal dogs in in the range of 4 pounds to 130 pounds. So this training appiles across the board to all dogs. I apply it daily to childern as well. Man this is fun as I making notes for that book of mine right left and centre as I explain it to you it gets clearer to me. Thanks. JL |
