| Anyone see this on the news? So upset I was shaking! I just saw this link called DOG DIES WHILE COP DETAINS OWNERS. A guy was pulled over for speeding. He had his blinkers on and was speeding .Because his dog was dying in the front seat sitting on his girlfriend's lap! The tiny poodle was choking and the driver had the vet on the phone. I understand that the cop had every right to pull over someone for speeding but it's his disgusting attitude towards the dog and owner! It's just a dog , you can get another one! " Where I live, you HAVE to drive by the police station to get to the Emergency Vet. I am guilty of this and my hubby was driving once about 70 MPH on a 30 MPH road to get to the hospital. I heard that a neighbor of mine went through the same thing and the cops stopped them and actually helped them into his car and rushed them the rest of the way to the hospital for their dog. Here is the video of the Police pulling the guy over. Poor guy was hysterical. Dog Dies While Cop Detains Owners Video |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I saw that before I think on here. It really reminds me of this story that happened YEARS ago but has stuck with me to this day. This woman was driving with her little dog in her car and she had a small fender bender with this guy, and the guy came over to her car, took the dog out, and threw it into oncoming traffic. That horrified me, and I've never forgotten it. When I first heard about this cop story...I was so livid I couldn't see straight. I still am. It's disgusting. That monster should be fired from the force and never be allowed to have a public SAFETY job EVER again! Oh my gosh...I shouldn't have watched that video. I cried. That poor, poor man. Oh my God.

For the record, I don't believe that the cop was in the wrong as far as pulling the man over. The guy was endangering the wellfare of others. However, the way the cop handled the situation from there on out was inexcuseable and the ignorant comments he made, IMO, were so far out of line it's ridiculous and ruined any chance he had at defending his actions.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Yes I heard about this too....my mom was actually the one who told me about it. OMG - infuriates me to no end. Sorry but I would have told that cop that he can meet me at the vets office to write the ticket, and I would have laid on the gas peddle Seriously. If those poor people could just "get another dog", maybe he could have just "gotten another speeder"

| Oops , I didnt realize this story was on another thread.I saw this and I could not believe that cop's attitude.I don't know if I wouldhave stopped. Maybe I would have had the passenger call 911 to explain the situation and have a record of it since they record all 911 calls. I then would have gotten to the vet,let the girl and dog get into the vet and handled the cop, speeding ticket maybe get arrested also... |

Yorkie Talker | Wow, this is so sad.. I can't even watch it, makes me want to cry. I couldn't imagine this happening to me. It's so sad that they actually had to go through that. I would be tempted just to drive away from the officer! |

That seems like an impossible situation. Wanting to obey the law...needing to save your dog. It's so sad. I know I keep posting here. I just feel so personally affected by this for some reason. It kind of reminds me of when Tucker was a puppy and he ran away at night. I was with my friends and I was screaming like a maniac - a cop stopped and I was expecting to get yelled at, but he paged the other cops in the area and told them to keep an eye out. It's not the same situation (AT ALL), but I just wonder what would have happened if a cop like that had pulled him over instead. Has there been anything said about this besides the initial story? Like any followups or investigations or anything?

| I believe that the follow-up is that the cop has gotten death threats and the mayor seems to be asking what the big deal is? |
