Revenge Pooping?????

Ya know, I would swear that Trixie does this same thing to get revenge on me sometimes. If I'm outside talking to someone with a dog and she can see it, yep, pooped in the house when I walked back in. If I lock her out of the bathroom while I shower, yep, pooped when I walk back out.

I don't think that whether or not dogs have the same emotions as humans is anything that can ever be more than theory. (I mean think about it, how could it ever be proven?) I have known dogs to grieve themselves to death over things and dogs who 'pout' at their owners. So, IMO, they do definately have a range of emotions that they exhibit comparable to those of humans. Spite may as well be one of them.

My Suzi has pooped just after cleaning up the poo mess, she then does it /However, I do not believe it is out of revenge, or spite. I figured she likes a clean place to poo..
Yes they are smart, however, I believe it is not from revenge or spite. they poo when their bodies are ready to.. Not anything elese.

Second he did not lie on it to hide it, dogs don't think like that. They live in the moment and what they did or you did two seconds ago no longer matters to them.

He simply is not getting the message of what you want. Not your faault, not his fault, it's a language barrier. if what you have tried in the past isn't working, get creative and think of a new way to get him to understand you.

Working closely with your dog and teaching him other things might help him to understand you better.

You also might want to try blotting up his pee with a pee pad so it has that smell on it.

Yorkies can be difficult to train it just takes patience and creativity on your part.

Putting him in a little larger crate, and dividing the crate into separate areas might help. Potty in one area and sleep and play ing the other.

I am sorry, but I do not agree. Dakota does this, except she tinkles a little bit on the rug. She does this sometimes if she gets mad at being left, like if daddy tells her she can go but she really can't.

I usually don't post on such topics as this because people disagree so much but I had a poodle who would pee in the floor the second we left even if she had went before we where leaving. I don't even know how she could pee so soon again. We even tested her to see how long it took. She would also grieve severly if we left her with anyone. She would refuse to eat and cry as loud as a child.

I also had a pug who would tear up the garbage. If he was no where to be seen when we came home we knew he had done something wrong. My Dad said he doesn't understand what he has done. Then after coming home with me one day to see the mess and Snoopy (the pug) hiding he changed his mind. lol He would be all excited to see my Dad but when he would look at me he would look all sad. It is kinda funny but the messes were not

I think we are not giving them as much credit as they deserve. All dogs are different and I believe they may very well do stuff for spite. Just my opinion.

I would also like to add that Sophie used too poo in her crate when would leave her. I do not believe she was doing this for spite though. She just gets nervous when we leave her and I think that is what was causing her to get that sudden urge. We now take her out before we leave and make sure she poos. That has solved our problem.

These dogs are not human, they may poo/pee and tear up garbage or rugs or any thing else. but I dont think its revenge lol its more about change of being left behind, stress, nervousness, seperation ,bordem
My Mickey use to eat the wall every time we left as a pup, he just didnt like to be left alone it wasnt revenge to get back at me.

IMO --- While it may not be "revenge"; it is a form of emotion whether you choose to agree or not, is your choice.

As humans, we do things all the time and call them what they are not. If someone wants to call it revenge... so be it.

I don't think dogs do anything for spite, but I know cats do.

We do have emotions and many are like ours we can not more place what we think on them then we can place emotions on another human being.
To consider they do not have emotions is to make it easy for us to treat them as less then they should be.

That said it not revenge it fear. You probably ran out the door faster then usually or you were all concerned and poof you were gone. He got concerned and pooping is a stress relief for some dogs so he pooped.

Pooping in a house and anxiety after a dog is trained go hand in hand.

No one on this earth can get into the mind of a dog and know for sure if they exibit emotions so your opinions are just speculation.

My little Elvis would always poop in his crate when we left and come to find out, he has separation anxiety. He gets so stressed being left alone and wants to find us so badly that his little bowels "move".

I hope someone on here gave you some good advice (I did not read all the remarks)...I was advised to check into the "Dog Whisperer" DVD and plan to do that...just an idea for you. Good luck!
