| sadly x-pens are not going to work. The office space is small and like i said we share it.. plus it is where customers come in to talk and pay... so it would just be too cluttered... maybe it if it was JUST my family it would work because there is no one else you have to please.... *sigh* family! |

| You must've been terrified! Otis will run out the front door so I keep 2 panels of a plastic ex-pen in front of the door. It gives a little room so people can come inside and shut the door and I have time to pick Otis up before I move it for them to come on inside. What it really does is cut down on surprises. If anyone ever just walks in the door, I know Otis is safe and can't run out. It gives me a couple seconds to pick him up and then move the gate to welcome them in. Good Luck! I fear if that was Otis he would've been in the next county before he even looked back.

YT 500 Club Member | I wonder if you could do the invisible fencing just in a doorway with a collar on her. I have never seen it done, but it might be an idea. There are also invisible tents that cover a specific area. They have a base in the building, and the dog wears a collar. I know a couple with two small dogs, and they said it works great.

| lol... i've become paranoid. She is going to have a 15 foot lead on... not tied to anything.. and we are going to have a few trial runs with other dogs and such.. as soon as she goes to bolt.. we can step on the lead which will jerk her and will provide a safe negative consequence to going outside (we called our behaviourist friend!!) so i hope it works. There was no negative consequence last time she went out... (well other than i put her in her crate.. which is loves) so we are hoping this will work! |
