| Ears question. Ok so my Trixie's ears are down sometimes they pop up for a bit then go back down. I want them up. I read people tape the ears and some shave them. Well I was thinking about having them shaved. My question is how old should she be when they get shaved. Right now she is almost three months. Well any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

| She's the right age to start working on her ears. I opted to tape Bernie's ears when they didn't come up. You only want to shave the tips of the ears, down maybe 1/2 inch. (Maybe up to 1 inch after she and her ears grow) You can do it with scissors yourself. Get the hair off the front and back of the ear leather, and I bring the hair to a v point. Then let the rest of the hair grow. I taped Bernies ears several times and there is almost no wrong way to do it. Tape them up, look at them after say 4 or 5 days...if they aren't up, do it again. Here's a site that shows one method of taping. Roo Bear Yorkies & Biewers Home of Magic Dragons - Taping ears

| I didn't want to shave or tape my pup's ears so I just trimmed the excess hair around his natural ear curve (there was a ton of hair) and suddenly- plop! The ears sprang up on their own. It was just the ear hair that was weighing it down. He was about 3.5 months at the time I did that. |

| I definitely meant to do both. Shave them before you tape them.

| My baby is 10 weeks. Is it too soon to tape her ears? |
