| Shopping adventures this weekend My bf and I and some friends went shopping at a huge outlet mall about 3 hrs away. (Woodbury Commons for anyone in NY) I bought a carrier for Olivia so that she could join us. When we first got there, I was so nervous that everyone would be mad that I had Olivia with me. The first store we went into, a woman had a yorkie and the dog was just walking on a leash. (The dog apparently peed on the floor, but I missed it. And I was nervous about Olivia in a bag?!) We introduced Olivia and the other yorkie but Olivia wasn't very interested. After we went into another store, my bf and I went to sit on a bench with Olivia. When I got Olivia out of her bag I saw that she got sick inside the bag. We cleaned everything up and decided to try carrying her for a while. I was still a little nervous but there were dogs everywhere! We saw an 11 week old pug, 2 or 3 yorkies, a yorkie/bichon mix (which felt like a cashmere sweater!), a labradoodle, a german shepard looking dog, and a few maltese. Everyone was so nice about her being there. She was loved up by the sales women in Coach and Eddie Bauer, and the saleswoman in Bebe said we could let her walk on the floor as soon as we walked into the door. It was so nice for her to be with us! I was worried about her after she got sick, but I knew she was okay after she wolfed down a grilled chicken patty from McDonalds and continued to sniff my food! Toward the end of the day, Olivia and I were sitting outside a store while everyone eles shopped. We were approached by a few families that had young children. They were all so well behaved and everyone asked if she could be pet before just assuming- I was quite impressed! That day, Olivia ate up all the attention from people, but wanted nothing to do with meeting the other yorkies. I thought it was just nerves from a long car ride and a new situation, but even by the end of the day she didn't want anything to do with them. The other dogs would come up and sniff her and she would sit on one of our feet. She doesn't have the opportunity to play with other yorkie-size dogs. (She has no problem with bigger dogs) Could she really be afraid of or not like dogs her size, or do you think it is because of the day's excitement? |

| Wow, she had quite an exciting day! I think riding in her carrier is something she'll get used to over time. I'm sure she loved all the attention though! I love the feeling of "you can drool over my dog and wish he was yours but oh no, hes mine and he's going home with me! I'm so lucky!" LOL

I live about 20 minutes from the Woodbury Commons and I often shop there. Its great, I get to go shopping and take Desi on an outting at the same time. There are always lots of dogs there and my husband and Desi wait for me outside on the benches, saying hello to the doggys that pass by while I'm inside shopping. ( I think my husband likes all the girls coming up to him asking to see Desi..hmmmm)

| Villette- I actually went to the outlets hoping to get a good deal on a signature Coach bag but no such luck! I got a few shirts from Banana Republic for a great price and some Yankee candles in chocolate chip and vanilla flavor-yummm! My bf got stereo stuff for his truck (I know- big woopdie!) at an amazing deal. I defnitely needed more than one day to really look though the stores, though. I love deals and sales, but unfortunately I didn't find anything great. I'm hoping to go right at the end of a fashion season next time to get the better deals. LoveMyBaby (and other NYers)- yes- it was so pet-friendly! The only place I ran into some trouble was the woman at Gap told my bf he had to hold Olivia in the store (I made sure to say "I told you so!" to him!), and the really nice cashiers in Starbucks were loving on Olivia but told me to watch out for the barista making the drinks because apparently she would have a problem. meizzi- isn't it great to hear about such a pet friendly place?! The whole weekend was great because we also stayed in a pet-friendly hotel, so there was no sneaking around. I loved having Olivia with me on the trip and loved seeing so many other people out with their dogs, having a good time. Maybe there is hope! |

LOL! Two girls went up to my bf while he was holding Olivia in Aldo. I laughed and asked if I should be watching him!! I'm so jealous you live that close- it was so much fun there! I wish I knew you were there- we could have had a mini meet-up! Val- My bf said two grils were "stalking" me in Saks! He overheard one of the girls say I had a dog and the other said it was a purse. He said they followed me through shoes and then out the door! LOL! I guess Olivia had her very first "paparazzi" moment!
