Steppin n' style a touch of color I am the one you are talking about. I do have partis, chocolate , golden and traditional yorkies. I am very proud to say i have partis .they do come from champion bloodline.i just got a pup her grandfather is a usa champion and a international champion who is reg. With akc.who himself has breed a female and had partis. My dogs are akc reg. And are dna. I am not ripping anyone off. I take great pride in breeding my partis, chocolate, golden, and traditional yorkies . As far as genetics, it is a part of life. I am not messing with anything. I have several female and male that have recessive genes. I breed them together and the good lord has sent to me different colors. As far as their health they are just fine no allergies, no defect,no skin problems.the last message i would like to say to you is (god grant you the serenity to accept the things you cannot change, courage to change the thing you can, and the wisdom to know the difference) if you would like to call my home you may 225-627-0109 gwen peters |

I bought a Chocolate girl from Gwen and her Dogs are all OUTSTANDING Quality and some AWESOME looking yorkies. |
I have nothing against off colored yorkies, in fact I love them. But I went to the site and counted 42 breeding adults!! That is insane. No one could possibly care for that many dogs properly plus that doesn't even count when they have puppies. I just can't imagine that many dogs all in one place.:thumbdown |
I looked too...holy moly...I did like the picture of beckas girl 1...her little arm is just hanging off the chair.lol |
Steppin n' style yorkies Do not past judgement on what you do not know. I have a nursery and two helpers and wonderful family that helps with everything. Alot of the dog have earn their picture on my site even if i do not breed them.it is a family own business..........................gwen peters |

You would think these people would know you before passing judgement don't you. They just like to talk and don't KNOW what they are talking about. At least we Parti yorkie Breeders are one big Family that stick together and care about each other and know the lies being spread are so untrue!!! |
You are so right we are a tight group of people who stand for what is right and most of all behind each other. We do not pick fights or do we try to hurt other breeders. We are honest hard working people who love what we do and have extremly healthy partis , chocolate, golden and traditional yorkies they are akc and are reg. As a chocolate or parti or golden . Their pedigrees list the correct color and the number for each color. All you have to do is call the american kennel club and they will inform you of the different colors that they do register......................gwen peters |

I'm not going to badmouth anyone who has a parti - chocolate or whatever color yorkie they have - but I have to say this ...many of the websites that sell 'rare' 'designer' or 'off colors' have puppies that don't even come close to the yorkie 'look' I personally fell in love with. The Ears - the faces - the body shape are all off - I sometimes can't even tell the breed. :( It seems selling puppies has become a mass production business for many many breeds - and that just sucks for dogs in general with our full shelters and high kill rate :( NOTE - this is my opinion only about the net and puppies for sale in general & not directed to anyone - just an opinion !! |

I agree with you whether there are Parti, Golden, chocolate, traditional, or PINK yorkies. They need to look a certain Yorkie way. The Yorkie TYPE Cuteness!! I do see what you are saying!!! I think Color has nothing to do with it. A lot of people on YT just want to cut breeders down for the colors with out even knowing or seeing ANY of there dogs in person. I for one Know Gwen Peters Personally and OWN one of her dogs so this post did not even need to be started. |
Steppin n' style yorkies I do not have a small gene pool to breed my male or female to. I have several parti yorkie carriers in which i have beautiful and healthy pups.their are alot of akc yorkie out there that have the recessive gene. I have no need to inter breed or line breed. However alot of people do. Are you aware that alot of your show dogs are line breed and are healthy and are beautiful champions. What are you talking about? You can have two traditional yorkies that will have a baby born with a problem. It does not take years for this to happen. Do you continue to breed them ? I would hope you would not. Genetics are the same as people. Are you an expert in genetics? If so please sent me the literature. Do you study pedigrees ? .............................gwen |
It seems selling puppies has become a mass production business for many many breeds - and that just sucks for dogs in general with our full shelters and high kill rate :( You are exactly right . Some peoples think they just have to place a male and a female together to become breeders . There will always be peoples to say you know someone have to start somewhere . If a person want to start a breeding program , at least start it right or don't breed at all . |
Steppin n' style yorkies I would like to take the opportunity to thank my friends for standing behind me and not against me..............................gwen |
Gwen you know I Love you girl!! You have the Same Passion and Love for breeding as I do and I for one think that is what breeding is all about. |
Angela, Just sent you a PM. Sherry |
Steppin n' style yorkies Would you like me to stand in line for food stamps or be an honest breeder. I am a good person who spends her time at home and i do love what i do. I do have the correct amount of space for my dogs to play and have fun. I have an akc inspector who comes to my home once a year and i always pass inspection that includes my facility, health of my dogs , and also my litter book records. What club are you with ? ..............................gwen |
I think there are two clear "groups" of people here: The side that values the traditional, standard Yorkies, wants to see it preserved and supports the YTCA's stance and efforts to do that.....and the side that doesn't. Then there are people in that gray, middle area who don't neccessarily condemn breeding off-colored Yorkies, but condemn anyone doing it unethically--and that goes for ANY Yorkie/dog, regardless of color. If people don't agree with another's practices, whatever they are, or see things that they or many others feel as "questionable" they have a right to their own opinion, plain and simple. If people are of the opinion that only traditional colored Yorkies should be bred, then obviously if you are breeding anything else, they are going to disapprove. It's not because people are uneducated on the breed, or fearing competition in sales (HA!) or any of the other ridiculous claims that have been made--it's because that is simply the way they FEEL and what they believe. In regards to people 'speaking about a breeder they do not know'-- There are many aspects of a breeding program that the majority of Yorkie enthusiast, both on YT and off, have come to recognize as "red flags" that others are warned against with ANY breeder. When identified, others are 'warned' regarding these indicators--as something you would definately want clarification on from the breeder. Some my pan out as having a good explanations, some may not but they are definately things you would want to be aware of. And some may just be because it's a practice not agreed with. You don't have to "know" a person to see what is written by THEM in black and white in front of your face, on their own site. Bottom line is, there are alot of these "red flags" on the site currently in question. (Gwen's site, Steppin' in Style) I don't think it was JUST the practice of breeding non-standard colored dogs that concerned people. The OP had every right in starting this thread! They found a site, had questions about it and asked for opinions. In the end, it's up to people as individuals to decide how they feel about any breeder and his/her practices. But if someone here or elsewhere feels like there is something that IN THEIR OPINION is questionable, they have a right to point it out. And many people who don't know what to look for in a "good breeder" appreciate and come here specifically for that information. |

I fall into the gray area...I like the parti's, however my expections of a breeder or their breeding program remains the same. |
Wow did you see the prices of those partis? You can get a biewer for that price maybe even less. I am sorry If I had a choice of a biewer or a parti I would pick biewer. |

I do not mind people asking question but i do have a problem with people who pass judgement and who are rude and ugly .i did not know about this site and i really do not like it.it is very hard not to stand up for who you are and what you believe in. I love my yorkies as much as any person could love yorkies. All my time is spend in caring for them they deserve nothing but the best........................gwen |

As far as not wanting people to question if they were pure bred in comparison to the Biewers...that still happens anyway...people question them both. |
