| ![]() Hi sweetie. I am so sorry you have to make such hard decision. I hate leaving Izzy at home for five hours but she understands that mommy has things she has to do (like make money to buy me toys ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() Well if you're unable to care for him, and pay someone to walk him or whatever you need, then re-home would be best. If you can't pay for his needs then he needs to go to someone who can.

| ![]() I feel so bad for you and Benny... I can't imagine being put in that sort of scenario. If you could find someone to go by a couple times a day and play wiht him, walk him and feed him it would be ok for the year. Maybe a responsible teenager in town, or a friend would be willing to help you. Like another person said you should try talking to your vet, maybe the local highschool about getting a student who really loves animals and is looking to get into a related profession. (students may also be able to use it as volunteer time) The only other option is to lessen your load at school maybe stretch out your last year into two?? I know that's probably not what you want to do, but if you really want to keep him it might be the only way. Otherwise, you may have to re-home him... sad, but true if you can't be there with him. You just don't want him to slip into such a deep depression that he can't get out of or you don't want him to get used of not having anyone around either. Tough decision, good luck & keep us posted. ![]()

Good luck. Some time in the future you will be in a better position to have a puppy. Until then be happy that you have done the best for this little guy. | |

| ![]() What kind of life would this little guy have if she does that? He is only 4 months old. Imagine how sad and scared he would get. Christina, PLEASE don't consider this. |

| ![]() How long would you be gone from him at one time? If you can get home and let him out in between classes, it would probably be okay! I would get a nice big cage rather than a crate, as you can put water connected to the cage so it won't spill and put food in there. He is too young to let him have the run of the house with no one there to supervise. It won't be forever, so I hope you can come to a good conclusion! Pat |

Lucky for you Yorkies don't need tons of exercise.. just some attention and to be taken out to potty.. or you can try to potty pad train him. This is similar to the past owner of my teddy. Only she was working long long hours and he was being kept in his crate for 8+ hours everyday and only like 30mins outside if that. I bought him for 400 and now he has friends to play with but he only goes outside to pee during the hot hours at after 7 or 8 is when I bring him out for an hour or more because it's cooler. He also has tons of toys to play with to keep him company. If all else fails look up a puppysitter place and maybe he can go there a few times a week or even a couple times. Maybe you have a friend who can drop by on him whenever she's not in class once a day or every so many days to work with the petsitter on days he isn't there(at the sitter). If you decide not to keep him I'm sure there are tons here that would take him in. or even if there's a member that lives near you maybe you two can work something out.

| ![]() belinday- i don't appreciate your comment. first of all, i am not a "kid." second of all, benny is EXTREMELY well taken care of and gets all the love and nuturing a puppy could ever need or want. you don't even know me and i don't appreciate you passing that kind of judgement when all i'm asking is for some suggestions from other yorkie lovers and caregivers. as for everyone else- i completely appreciate all of your responses, i'm actually surprised and overwhelmed so many people are willing to lend some advice! i respect each and every one of you for your true loving ways with yorkies...it's so amazing to see that! i'm trying my best to work something out- either way, putting my own feelings aside- i will make sure the best thing happens to benny, because he deserves only that. |

| ![]() Do you have any friends you trust him enough with to let him stay with them. Maybe a YT member that lives near you might take him in.
