| Anybody allergic to dogs? I think I might be.. not that it's a problem but I swear since we've gotten Maggie my eyes have been bothering me. It might be coincidental with the season.. I have no idea. All I know is that my allergies have been going crazy. I am taking Singulair and also eye drops. Anybody else allergic to dogs but have them anyway? How do you deal with it?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | That's one of the reasons that I chose a Yorkie, they don't have dander, like most dogs. However, it is still possible to become alergic to them. Do you have more problems after petting Maggie?

| I have allergies to dogs and asthma as well from my allergies. They are actually one of my worst allergens although I have many other triggers. I just started allergy shots and take an asthma med and allergy med daily and still deal with issues, but I just do my best. Things that can help -- keep the dogs out of your bedroom at all times, buy hepa air filters for around the house, don't groom yourself - have it done out of the house, use allerpet in between bathings, vacuum and mop a lot. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I never use to be allergic to anything till I got two cats, and it was really difficult living with them, but they really needed a home. I lived on allergy pills, and was careful about washing my hands after handling the cats, but it was difficult because their dander sticks to everything. I haven't noticed any problems with Joey specifically, but I do have problems associated with the air, and it really affects my eyes. I wish there was something that only treated the eyes because that's what I have the problem with. What about the eye drops you mentioned do they help?

| I am mildly allergic to dogs and cats. I usually have allergy attacks when I allow my dogs to sleep on my bed or after I cut their hair. My dogs have to sleep on their own bed, and the groomer has to cut their hair. If I let my dogs sleep on my bed, in the morning I will have to take Benadryl. I wish I could cut my dogs' hair myself , but it's not worth suffering through the allergy attacks. I hate taking Benadryl because I end up sleeping my day away. No other allergy medicine works for me except Benadryl. I love my dogs. I just have to find ways to avoid getting allergy attacks, so I can enjoy living with my pets.
