Sasha is too friendly...lol Sasha wants to meet and greet everyone that she lays her little eyes on, even if they are yards away, lol. When I walk her she starts to get really excited when someone is approaching us. I have to hold her back or else she would take off towards them. Most times people will smile and stop and ask if they can pet her (some don't which is very rude) but when I let them she is just overjoyed. Her tail is wagging and she's all over the place. Sometimes it's frustrating because I want her to concentrate on doing her business but she's too busy being a little social butterfly. I had a scare recently though. We were sitting on the balcony. Now my balcony isn't very high and there are very full bushes beneath it. She always likes to perch up on the base and peek her head through and watch the neighbors walk by. They always stop and talk to her from the courtyard. Well one day, one of my neighnors stopped to talk and Sasha got really excited like she normally does. She's running back and forth and her tail is wagging. She put her head through the slats as normal (I'm standing over her) and she's wiggling away. Before I knew it she had managed to wiggle her way through the slats and jumped through! She had never done that before!! She landed on top of the bushes but my arm couldn't reach out far enough to get her. I raced to the door (I ended up sliding on her pee pad because I was in such a hurry ) because I knew the bush wouldn't hold her forever and I didn't want her running off. My neighbor is an older lady and I knew she was in no shape to run after her. I made it outside and sure enough she fell through the bushes but she was fine as she was just sniffing around like nothing had happened. She had leaves and dirt on her back. I dusted her off, picked her up and thanked my neighbor for at least waiting. Meanwhile Sasha is still trying to jump from my arms and into the arms of my neighbor so I finally had to bring her inside to calm her down and give her a bath. Needless to say I'm not allowing her to go on the balcony anymore until I put a screen up. But does anyone else have an uber friendly yorkie that just HAS to greet everyone they see? lol Last edited by Sasha311; 07-21-2008 at 12:14 PM. Reason: Typo

Yes you're right, it could be worse. But now that she can't go on the balcony anymore, she's been reduced to just looking through the window so she still yaps and barks...lol.

The chicken wire is exactly what I'm going to get! I couldn't believe she wiggled her way through there. And yes I immediately kissed her even with leaves and dirt on her.

Cassiopia reacts the same exact way. She's overly friendly and wants to greet everyone. I took her out for a walk a few days after she was spayed, and she got really excited and started to run and jump towards people that was passing by...so eventually I had to pick her up each time when I saw someone coming (since I was concerned that she may rip open her stitches). In any case, she's currently going potty on her wee-wee pad. Once she's fully recovered, I'll take her out for a walk again. As to curb her from getting TOO excited when she sees a person...I'm also looking for some guidance (not only does she jump on people, she also likes to nibble on their fingers). If you plan to take Sasha to your porch again, I would suggest that you always have a harness leash on her so that if she gets too close to the edge you can always pull her back.

She's usually friendly with other dogs. But my bf was walking her one time and he said they came across another man who was walking his female yorkie. This yorkie was slightly bigger but he said Sasha was acting very aggressive towards her. So I don't know what that was all about it. Female jealously maybe? lol

| I'm really glad she wasn't hurt. The scares they give us sometimes! I've got one just about as bad. She wants to greet not only the people, but their doggie if they're walking one. It's so funny to see her greeting a big dog! She'll run toward him and he'll run toward her! She'll sit her little rear down and stick her nose up in the air so they can smell noses and all of the time her little tail is going so fast. Then she'll run over to greet the doggie's owner! I'm glad we don't meet too many people when we walk or we'd never get done walking. I'd rather them be social like this, though, because it makes their lives that much richer, don't ya think?
