2009 International YorkieTalk Meetup 4 Attachment(s) ...just to keep the excitement going:) |
and just a few more "dog friendly" pics of Alexandria 4 Attachment(s) This is a dog lover’s town. A store owner regularly leaves doggie biscuits in this birdhouse for any passing canine. These two Westies have clearly been here before as they attentively watch their owner get them a treat. (quoted from website)Attachment 232358 Dogs have as much fun gossiping as their owners do at the Yappy Hour. The Old Town Holiday Inn hosts the Yappy Hour Tuesday and Thursday evenings in their courtyard from May to October (quoted from website)Attachment 232359 Attachment 232356Attachment 232357 hmmmm.....maybe we should move this to the general forum??? Get interest going |
Ooooh, looks like fun! We can't wait! |

How exciting for you! Feel free to post or PM any of the committee members about any "must dos" from a natives point of view. |
We are already planning to attend! We just survived Save A Yorkie Rescue's Annual Yorkie Day in Reading, PA (July 12th). It was at the Sheraton which is a pet friendly hotel and they waived the pet fee ($50) for us ($119/night). There were 150 people with over 200 pups in the Ballroom. Registration (and it included a buffet dinner) was $40/pp. There were a few YTers there and it was great to meet everyone! Hopefully you can find a great affordable place for everyone to stay. :D |
We definitely plan on attending this one. It's a 3hr drive and we just did it two months ago! I can't wait to see more details. |

Very Well Said Lori. We will probably be there in 2009...... unless issues arise. |
I am so excited, I am definitely coming to this years meetup! I am just so happy to be able to meet everyone and all the cute furbabies too! :) |
Score! It's 45 minutes for me! Alexandria is a beautiful, beautiful city, but it can get pretty humid in late summer. Here is another site to poke around at. City of Alexandria, Virginia And I may just be biased bc I was raised here, but DC area traffic isn't half as scary as it's made out to be! |

Great Location The DC area is a great location with so much to see and do! All Americans should visit there at least once in their lives, so plan some extra time to do the all the sites if you haven't already. Arlington and the Vietnam Wall Memorial are particularly moving. As for the meet-up, I am new to Yorkietalk. I found you because my baby has encephalitis. So I am just now exploring what goes on here. What do you do at the meet-up? Can we bring our Maltese too, or is it just Yorkies? Thanks for the information and the site - you have really been helpful with my Crissey's illness. |
