Well in the mean time....... I would love for ya'll to post any ideas you have and things you would love to do AT the meetup! The planning team wants to do everything possible to make the 2009 Meetup awesome for all the members in attendance. |
i just need to know when...the rest can come later...i have a big summer and it is according to when as to whether or not i can even come... |
Ideas for the meet up... What to do in Alexandria at the meet up? I'll give it a shot... How about a walking tour of Old Towne with the Yorkies invited? A visit to the closest dog park for little dogs is always fun. A tour of the monuments in DC with our Yorkies (they will not be allowed in some, but with lots of us going, and not all the Yorkies attending :( we will have plenty of doggy sitters. Renting bikes and riding to Mt Vernon on the George Washington Parkway trail is a lot of fun from Old Towne. Could bring some of the little guys too with the right equipment (they would not be allowed in Mt Vernon of course). Then there are the humans-only traditional DC activities, such as touring the Smithsonian or other mall attractions. Kennedy Center, River cruises, side trip to Smithsonian Air and Space Annex at Dulles, attend a Nats baseball game; there are many options. A trip to Great Falls could also be a lot of fun and makes for a great hike (lots of dogs too). What needs to be done IMO is list potential activities and canvas interest from the group of likely attendees. :aimeeyork Shawn |
what about a grooming class for people that do not know how to cut and style yorkshire terrier and or a bbq or pizza party |

Maybe the hotel will have a courtyard area where we can bbq. |

George Washington's Mount Vernon - Customs and Courtesies Amazingly refreshing attitude towards our canine companions:) Weird, too, since I have been there maybe a half a dozen times over the years and must have blanked all the dogs out of my memory, or else it has not always been the policy. Anyway that is great news, and again there will be plenty of yorkie sitters available for taking turns seeing the mansion.:aimeeyork |
