| Dog locked in hot car!! I was just out shopping and it is so hot here right now - and I see a dog trapped in a car while Mom or Dad shop at Wal Mart! That just incenses me. I put a note on their car that it was way too hot, and called animal control with their licence # and make/model of car. I was told even if they get there and the car is gone, they will still follow up with this unthinking person. The poor little guy was on the floor, had been barking, then stopped barking. Probably too hot to bark. I am still so upset by it. The doggy was suffering, but I feel like I am suffering now just with the memory...... Here's a great website with info on locking dogs in cars.......I have printed it and made copies to put on people's cars that do this....and I will keep animal control's # handy to report them. I just can't stand for this anymore....it's way too sad........... Pasado's Safe Haven - Do not leave your dog in a hot car |

| In Florida it is against the law to leave a pet inside a car regardless of the temperature. I guess maybe because it is so warm here all the time. I am quick to teach and to report My dh is worried someday I will get shot or beaten because I am so vocal. Recetnly I saw Chihuahua that was so tiny. Her head was the size of a golf ball and she was pacing back and forth on the dash. I waited only 5 min. I was about to call the police when the owners walked up. I was besides myself! You would think that if they brought them along..that they loved their pet not to leave them in the heat. I just dont get it! |

| There is nothing that gets my dander up than something like that. I would have called the police too. Its hard to believe that people are that cruel. They are either cruel or down right stupid. That poor baby. That person that left him or her in that hot car needs a dose of their own medicine. |

| I'm so happy you stepped up and called those people in. I can't believe they would that to a dog. How would they like staying out there in a hot car. Its even better to know they would follow up on that call even if the people left. Maybe it will make them think the next time before doing that. Way to go Girl!

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Some people just plain don't use their heads on this matter. At a street fair in the next town over there was a brand new mercedes still had no licence plate with a small terrier in it all windows up but one 1/2 an inch down. The police came put a thermometer on a string in the car. It was 114! They broke the drivers window took the dog and left a ticket and a note. The cheers and clapping was awesome. I know my hands hurt from clapping. We got a ice cream and went to wait along with maybe 30 others to see the people come back to their car. It was a middle aged couple that started yelling someone broke into our car did you see anything! Everyone said read the ticket and note! Boy not another word and they drove off red faced. So many were Happy to see it!!!

| I hate seeing that too. I always feel like taking a crow bar breaking the window and taking the dog out.

| I'm glad there are others out there watching out for our furry little friends. I actually called 911 (police) and they forwarded me to animal control...........I would have been happy to see a police car there. I had gone and looked at the little cherub first because he/she was barking, then when I realized it was still in the car while I was getting the # and all, and it wasn't barking anymore, I couldn't go look anymore. I didn't know what to do? I wanted to break the window..........oh it just tore my heart out. I also had originally written a note that said "it is way too hot out for this dog to be in the car, this is animal cruelty!".....so they will get that too. I am going to keep ever vigilant with papers, pens, and my trusty phone to call them in. Everytime the heat goes up here, I instantly worry about the animals - in cars, in yards with no water or shelter. God it just tears my heart out............. |

♥My Lil' Monkey Girl♥ Donating Member | i am the same way i hate when people due this this is like letting a child go freely in a car without a seatbelt..... It goes right through me..... these are the people that don't deserve children or these loving pets. How would they feel being locked in a hot car at 100 degrees with nothing to drink no air and no keys to the car??? Maybe that should be some type of punishment we should make these people go through for putting the beloved pets through it. If its good enough for the pet why is it not good enough for them..... Okay sorry i need to calm down now! Thank you to the pet lovers and owners that dont do this to their pets!

| I watched the animaL cops last night and they are called out many times about this... Some of them are dead, still in the locked car.. It is awful, deisgusting and 100% preventable. i am glad you took action .No animal should ever be locked in a car! the sad thing about it is people do this with their babies, too, so they are going to do that with their pets too. It is unthinkable .

| Great job reporting them! It's so sad when you see animals left in hot cars.
