Little Maggy May , you need to stay calm until you are all healed.

I am glad you were able to catch it, and get her into the vet fast. That must have been very scary to have to deal with. My Suzi needs to be spayed, and it will be in Sept. I could see her doing that too. They start feeling better before the wound is al healed. Poor Maggy just wanted to play with your niece. Keeping her in the crate is a good idea until she is healed.

You poor dear. It is awful to not be able to fix it when they are hurting so. Lots of hugs and prayers for both of you.

I am so sorry I haven't replied to this sooner and given you all another update. It just hasn't been a very good day here today at all. It started out with Maggy Mays incision being open, we got it taken care of and she's going better, I don't think she's to happy to be confined to her kennel except for pee and poo breaks, but, I'd rather have her mad at me then her have to be put under again. I'm trying to remember all the questions you all have asked me, I know I'll forget some, please forgive me. The vet didn't say what caused it to open up, but she did say it very well could have been from getting so excited in her kennel and jumping like she was. I'm sorry ladies, I can't remember the rest of the questions you all asked me, it's been way to much today. My husbands brother passed away this afternoon so as you can imagine, we have more than enough on our plate. I'll update tomorrow on how Maggy May is doing. Oh, and yes, the song by Rod Stewart "Maggy May", I like it to, I sing it to Maggy.

aww..sorry about Maggy! Something similar happened to Lacy when she was spayed, except it was her internal stitches that tore, not her external. She was too active too soon and tore her internal stitches..and the layer of fat and tissue over her intestines was sticking out through her abdomen wall..just covered by skin so she had a big soft bump on her belly. She had to be reopened and restitched and had to be confined for a week. I definitely learned how it important it was to keep them still for the week after their spay. They might think they feel okay but their body isn't healed yet. Hugs to you and Maggy.

I am so sorry to hear all you have been through, You know the saying is when it rains it pours. Now Maggy May, no more jumping for a while until you are all brand new.

I'm so sorry you are having such a tough time right now ((((BIG Hug))) what a relief she is doing okay now...they are such tough little cookies...I will be making sure I keep Pixie as quiet as possible for a good week afterwards..your story has given me some good advice on what to look out for when i get Pixie home later today!

Hi ladies, sorry it's taken me so long to update. Maggy May is doing so much better today, she's pretty much been kennel bound though since bringing her back from the vet when she had to be re-closed. She thinks she's ready to go rip roaring through the house but I aint having it, seeing how easily she came open was enough for me to keep her in her kennel till I feel comfy enough about her incision not coming back open. She's back to eating normally and she has taken water, but it doesn't seem to be as much as she normally takes so I've been giving her extra through a syringe. She no longer has the runs but she hasn't had a bowel movement either, I wish she'd have one, I'd feel so much better if she had a normal one and I knew everything was working ok. Thank you all so much for all your support and prayers, it's meant so much to me.
