hmmmm....I would NOT pay her before you see the actual puppy. I don't get how she can ask for checks without giving her last name out ? if I were in your shoes - I'd be VERY Careful - if you already mailed her a check - you do have time to dispute it I would think - but you didn't say when you gave her the money - As far as her saying she's been breeding 11 years - people can claim anything but it doesn't mean it's true ....and YOU sound honest - so my feeling is you may be dealing with someone who may not be if she's being this secretive.

It's really hard to trust these days - both the legit breeders and legit buyers have to be so careful. I wouldn't give her a penny more till you know this is a real puppy

Remember that sweet little puppy could be a ticking time bomb with many health issues. What will you do if your puppy has liver shunt? What if your new puppy has a grade 5 heart murmer? What if your puppy has level 3 luxating patellas? These cost thousands of dollars to fix and not to mention some are inoperable! If you do your homework and buy from someone who truly loves thier babies you will be so rewarded with years of happiness and love! You and your new baby deserve it! Good Post. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GO THROUGH WITH THIS. If you knew how the parents lived no one with a heart could buy from people or places like this. Stick around here on YT and you'll find so many wonderful people and breeders that will help you. Also, there are many Yorkies on Petfinder in your area that need homes. Some are older but if you are patient you can find a puppy. Many are taken from puppymills and have never known a home, a pet, enough food, vet care, nothing. They just existed in small wire cages there to produce puppies for profit. The joy you will get in adopting is beyond imagination and the pay back this dog will give you for saving his or her life is unbelievable. Elaine

Maybe I could understand her not wanting you to go to her house but oy give you her last name and home phone number thats odd.

I agree that this sounds fishy. I would run in the other direction. There are so many wonderful breeders out there who really are trustworthy. I'm sure some one here on YT can help you find a healthy baby

You need to be very careful. I do understand why she doesn't want to give out her address with all the Yorkie thefts, however not wanting to share her name with you makes it sounds very shady imo. I personally let all of my potential families come to my home and see how I raise my babies, they get to see the parents and stay as long as they like till they are confortable in their choice of puppy.
