hmmmm....I would NOT pay her before you see the actual puppy. I don't get how she can ask for checks without giving her last name out ? if I were in your shoes - I'd be VERY Careful - if you already mailed her a check - you do have time to dispute it I would think - but you didn't say when you gave her the money - As far as her saying she's been breeding 11 years - people can claim anything but it doesn't mean it's true ....and YOU sound honest - so my feeling is you may be dealing with someone who may not be if she's being this secretive.
It's really hard to trust these days - both the legit breeders and legit buyers have to be so careful. I wouldn't give her a penny more till you know this is a real puppy
