| ![]() My Mika is just over 6lbs at just under 4 months. She is absolutely perfect as far I'm concerned, I'm expecting her to be 10-12lbs full grown and that seems tiny to me! I wanted a small dog that I could take everywhere with me and I can do that with Mika and will still be able to when she is full grown! I'm used to having a toddler or two in my arms so a 12lb yorkie is nothing!!! ![]() ![]()

YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() How you could you not love a Yorkie no matter what size? Mine is 4 lbs. and it wouldn't make a difference if she was 14 lbs. She still has a great personality and loves me unconditionally as I do her! ![]() |

YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() I do agree with being afraid of too small. I was so nervous when I got Roxie as a puppy. She was my first small dog as I had always had big dogs. I wanted to do everything perfect and not harm her. I'm glad she didn't stay that tiny long, it was a little nerve wracking. She was a little sickly at first too. But healthy and happy now. At the same time they may be small but they're mighty little things. |

| ![]() I've owned almost every size of dog in my lifetime. As a child we mostly had big dogs. Now that I can choose my own, it's small all the way. It's just a personal preference. I'm a small person, I was tired of big dogs hurting me by even just brushing up against me or bumping me. Now, 7 lbs is not a big dog at all. However, 7 lbs is different than 3 lbs. I watch a Papillon now and then and he towers over my chihuahua and two yorkies. He is 7 lbs. I think everyone wants a healthy dog first, then after that there are sizes and colors to choose from. These are VERY expensive pets and companions, I think you should only get one that you will be happy with. It's not like we're talking about giving away a 7lb dog, you're talking about selling someone a pet. It's a lifetime commitment in my mind. Not everyone is looking for the same thing for their money(heck, some may even prefer a darker or lighter or chocolate yorkie...yorkies vary in size and color so much it's good to know what you're looking for if you are spending thousands or even hundreds of dollars). Otherwise you'd just go to the pound and rescue, correct?

| ![]() People concerned or who make comments about size make me so angry! My Biggie is almost 9lbs and he has floppy ears. The Dam was 6lbs and the Sire 4lbs. and they both have their ears up. Just so happened Biggie ended up way bigger and we let his ears do what they wanted. He is so sweet, cuddly, funny and extremely playful. He has the most adorable face too! I can't take when people ask me what he is or if he is a Yorkie and after I confirm he is an AKC registered full breed Yorkie they act like it's big shocker because he is bigger than most and has floppy ears! People don't know or forget that when Yorkies were first bred they were working dogs and they were much larger than the ones today. |
