Absolutely no cool sales pitch...in fact I had a hard time getting her to let me come see them because she didn't want to show them until they were older. I met her on here and I had looked at her mentor's little tiny that went for $8000 and she was expecting the litter. When the litter was born she told me about it and mentioned that there was one girl I might be interested in but then it was me who hounded her with emails for pictures and the like and she never made a sales pitch.

I found another puppy and put a deposit on it before hers were ready to be seen but I had to see hers before I made the final decision on Ava just to be sure so I begged Tanya to let me come up and see them. She finally agreed and I was so impressed but, in the end, Ava was older and ready to go and Tanya had not even thought about price at that point, so I adopted Ava. If I could have had two I would have taken Tanya's baby too...she is adorable and soooo smart!

You will also note that Tanya announced the litter at 10 weeks on here in the "My Yokries" section, but never listed them for sale on here, which is not to say that she won't,but I just think that particular criticism of a fellow UTer is unwarranted and uncalled for. Her puppies sell themselves.

The difference is the breeder that breeds for tinies one knows up front your beginning price is $3000 and if you want very very tiny you could pay $8000

Tanya accidently gets a tiny and jumps on the opportunity to RAISE HER PRICE from $950 to $4000. On the other thread she clearly stated she does not breed for the tinies!!! Kim you have miss quoted her she said her breeding program is between 3-6 lbs!!! YIKES if I were the male in that litter I would have a value complex!!!! $3050 difference

PS i dont charge more, my dogs sleep with me and I too give a pup pack!

hehe...Smart boy - They do have lots of clothes - I wish Houston wasn't so hot or they'd be wearing them every day....Chanel said she even has a sexy RED Silk Kimono that Diva Pup made - soooo silky - she would just slide along on Codies arm.

I was wondering from you guys with experience, The little yorkie I am getting next week weighed 17oz at 6 weeks. I was told today that everything with all her vet visits had been fine and that she is waiting on some more blood work that has been done before letting her come home next weekend. She then said that she had lost a couple of oz but that it was normal for them to do that at some point. She told me that she was supposed to get about 4lbs full grown. Does it sound to you guys so far that she will and is 17oz at 6 weeks too small??

I never said the guy she sold her to was RICH! Where did I say that? He is very into his yorkies and treats them like his children and she had known him for years as a friend. Because you give your girls the "best of everything" and so does he does not mean that someone else doesn't. That doesn't make any sense. We could all give our yorkeis the 'best of everything" and I hope most do.

If it were a BIDDING WAR...the top bidder would win! The top bidder did not win so it was not a bidding war. I don't know how to wrtie any more succinctly.

You're right - you didn't say they were rich - they just had 8 THOUSAND dollars to spend getting a yorkie. My apologies if I thought that means they have money to spare.

And I only asked about the Bidding war after reading your post saying there was serious competition for this yorkie. I still would love to hear how she commands those kinds of prices.

OK...I really have to ask - When I see a puppy for EIGHT Thousand - the name Jeff Dane comes to mind - I'm sorry Kim - I'm sure your breeder 'friend' is very nice - but I think THAT price is WAY out of control.

That's really just plain nuts and can only hurt yorkies in the long run if everyone thought they could get that kind of money for a puppy.

Personally - I think it's plain wrong and it's taking advantage of people with more money than sense.

I would have serious doubts about any breeder who charges more for a tiny yorkie. But to charge that much more? I can buy a freaking tiger for that!!!!

Yes, although some on here have serious doubts, I think I am an intelligent woman...I have a high IQ and I passed the California Bar Exam on the first attempt!! LOL!

You think it is gouging to charge more for a tiny even though they are in higher demand, is it okay if a breeder charges more for a female, what about a champion pedigree? There is no guarantee that a dog with a champion pedigree will have champion looks and temperament but it is okay to charge more and it ia not considered gouging or dishonest. Well, those things don't mean as much to some people as getting a yorkie with the "look" they like and the size they want. It is not gouging or dishonest if the person is fully informed and it is what they want.
