| Rights of discovery As a law student and your attorney should know that you have the right to have the court demand certain documents. File the lawsuit and have the court demand that documents re Bruce are presented to the court. All parties have the right to discovery. I sued my so called breeder in small claims court and scared him badly enough to settle for my demands two days before court! Got to it, even if it is in small claims. |

| Try to follow a paper trail back to the AKC registration. If those records are not correct-the sire should have a DNA number if he has sired 3 litters in a year or 7 in a lifetime. AKC frowns on improper record keeping.. I will bet the dog is not AKC reg but the microchip is reg with the AKC companion animal recovery program..A woman came to my house with her AKC reg. pet shop puppy. I asked to see his reg papers and she said I had them in my hand. I looked at each paper and showed her there was NOT a reg application. I showed her the one from my dog. She was flabbergasted..her puppy could be ACA or CKC reg but the AKC looking papers were strictly for the chip.. |

| First I am so sorry about everything poor bruce has to go thru. Now if they insist on ignoring you, I would rally up as many pet lovers as you can and picket his store. Show people any documents from your vet so they see what happens when you buy from there. It is horrible that they wont even respond to you. Good luck to you, please keep us posted as to what happens. |

| Can't you sue the store directly and let them have to deal with getting their money from the breeder ??.. especially since they won't give you any details. |

| Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I right now am going to go the AKC paper trail route and am waiting for some calls back. milliecorrales: I am well aware of discovery rules, but this is a place that would most definetly try to frustrate discovery and numerous privileges could apply to the documents accompanying the purchase of their puppies. I have no doubt that they would hold us up in motion practice trying to assert something ridiculous llike a trade secret or what not. ssguzzy: actually Bruce & I have picketed the store along with numerous animal rights groups, other people who have had problems with them, and just dog lovers. I think in total we have prevented maybe 20 people from buying dogs there, but still I estimate they sell about 35-50 dogd per week (no joke) from $500-2500 each. We will get them it just may take longer than I hoped!!! |

| Bruce Go another step further and post this story in your newpapers and call the local news channels and see if they will share this story with the community- this will help spread the news quicker so no other people will have to endure what you and Bruce have had to go through. They should be shut down- The pet store and that breeder. Show no mercy !!! How horrible for Bruce, give him a kiss for me. We will keep you in our prayers.

| http://www.thebbb.org/commonreport.html?bid=64004295 i have allready checked the owner and the co owner on the AKC SUSPENSION list, but they are not present...... i also checked there names against a complete list of AKC members and found nothing....... so the owners themselves are not members of AKC........ Their story has now changed to, they know the breeder really well and want to protect their confidentiality...Well what breeder would want that? It seems to me that most of the breeders here (a) are proud of and love their dogs and would be happy to talk with their new families or (b) would want to know if a dog in their line had a defective trait so they could not have it bred into their line! Oy ve! | |
