| Who IS your yorkie???? Branching off of the 'smiles' thread...... I would like to ask all of you to talk about your little ones.......... who are they? what is their personality like? I dunno.. I look into my girls' eyes and I see so much. Jaya... well what can I say. She is the most perfect little thing in this entire world... none other can compare. She was the most perfect little puppy, and now, she has grown into the most perfect little lady. But on to the personality...(I could sit here and rave for days). She is loyal and devoted. She is a lover and a protector. She cares for little outside of her sphere... and those that she includes within her sphere.. I believe to be the luckiest people in the world. I am so lucky to have her in my life. She has this aura of peace and serenity about her. Jenna ...wow..what can I say about my baby. She is the baby of the family (she's fun, exuberant, naughty, bratty -- i mean she has actual tantrums! the huffy-puffy kind lol. She even sleeps like a baby...she loves to be cradled). I have such deep affection for her. She is a special one. She is an explorer... she desires freedom, and it always seems to me that she is longing for something outside of her sphere. Sometimes, when she just gazes at you... there is such sadness about her.... it just makes me really sad... and I wonder what could have happened to her in her past life.... I wish I could just talk with them.... |

| My Yorkie baby Suzi is the most sweetest, happiest, puppy I have ever seen She loves her family, wants to be with us everywhere, and is the cuteest, most precious little puppy! She is alert, and protective, loving and fesity , Suzi is incredible, and a constant companion to my son and I. She gives sweet puppy kissess all over everybody's face, and just wants to be your best friend. Suzi is adored by all who meet her and will quickly win over your heart. She loves kids too, and will get so excited and ready to play. She is an amazing little 15week old little Yorkie pup, and it is a privilage to be owned by her

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Your story is beautiful, you say you wish you could talk to them, it sounds like you do! Joey is the little boy of my heart, I have two wonderful sons, but when raising skin kids, you always worry about their future; what impact everything you do will have on them. You worry about how they will turn out, after you no longer have any real control over their actions, it's harder to enjoy the moment-to-moment activities. With Joey, I don't have to worry about his "future" behavior, only the here and now. I would describe Joey as inquisitive, protective, shy, playful, snuggly, independent, and always hungry. Actually, I guess he's a lot like me.

| Alastor, my sweet prince Alastor is a small (2.8lbs) 6 month old who is the sweetest pup in the entire world. He is a very finicky eater, to an extreme, and wants nothing more than to be held and loved. He loves going everywhere he can with us, likes his carseat and his purse that he gets to ride in, now that I finally got one for him, but likes his stroller less because there is no physical contact with us when he is in it. I do believe his favorite thing in the world is just to be with his family, no matter where we are or what we are doing, just sitting around or being very active. He likes other people too, but has eyes only for us. He is a very devoted and loyal boy. He is a peaceful boy who loves all cats and seems to think they are no different from himself, even the 1st time he ever met one. His best friends are a 30lb rabbit and a goose. The rabbit mostly just tolerates him, but the goose, Elvis, loves him like a brother. Elvis and Alastor like to sleep together and the goose grooms him every chance he gets. He pays no mind whatsoever to other dogs, except other yorkies and tiny puppies, but doesn't get very excited about them either. He is patient with my 3 children and even likes to crawl on my 3yr old's lap and sleep with him at night time. Alastor rarely plays, but loves to carry "blankies" around and wrap himself up in them. He steals my shirts out of the laundry but just drags them around until he finds a good place to sleep. In short (because I could go on) Alastor is a very calm, loving, super smart, patient, beautiful boy who is the light of my life.

| Ohh this is fun ..... .... well Maya is the Princess here for shure. She is very spoiled and loved and she has ATTITUDE when things don't go her way ! She does not like other dogs or cats at all and is very protective over my daughter. She is confused a lot .... she thinks she is a Rottweiler at some point ...... and she underestimates some situations with other dogs. She loves to cuddle and kiss and is calm most of the time ...... she wants to be left alone when she naps and I think she is related to rabbits .... super fast and jumping high ..... She loves toys and she goes on a walk with us after dinner every day before she goes to bed. She is very alert ..... She is sweet and you could never get mad at that face ..... she also likes to eat her food and then come up to you and burb .... she is a true STINKER !!!

| Oh what a nice idea for a thread! I can't wait to read everyone's response. And how can I pass up an opportunity to talk about Layla! Layla is one of a kind She is not a morning person (it is 10 am here.. she is stil sleeping) but once she wakes up she just lights up the room. Layla LOVES people, and i think feels offended when someone doesn't come and say hi to her. Whenever someone walks past her she puts her little ears back and wags her tail as if to say.. come on... how can you NOT pet me! She is a Grandpa's girl (as much as it kills her grandma ) and when she is upset she needs to be near her grandpa. Being 2 now, Layla has no need for puppies. She can't stand their energy but LOVES big dogs who are beyond that puppy stage. When she sees her friend Molly (a chocolate Lab) she gets all excited and almost folds in half like she can't decide if she wants to give Molly her front half or back half first. Layla is the best part of our family and any time I am away from her i miss her with all my heart. |

| What a great way to brag about our babies! Mufasa - simply put he has stolen the hearts of everyone in my family. I have never had a dog inside and I am absolutely over the moon crazy in love with him. His personality is happy! He has to go everywhere we go and loves to be with us as much as we love to be with him. He always sleeps with me and my husband and if I happen to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom when I come back he is at the end of the bed waiting to shower me with kisses as if he hasn't seen me in forever. The love he gives me makes my heart swell and I could literally start crying when I think about how much joy and love he has brought to my family. We adore him and he adores us! What more can you say? |

| Lily is the princess, she is very laid back and loves everyone, except for the potty training she has been perfect. She does not bark much, never chews or bites just wants to be loved. She stole my heart at first sight and is the love of my life. O and the best thing she loves to sleep. Kingston is full of it and full of himself. He keeps me busy by chewing on everything in my house including my fingers and toes. He is a lover as well and always wants to play. Unlike Lily he is up at 5:30 or 6:00 every morning and is ready to go. I love him very much and am excited to watch him grow because I think he is going to be a very beautiful boy. The first picture is Lily and the second is Kingston.

| My Mia This is a very nice thread. We all enjoy talking abut our babies. Were so proud of them. We have a Sheltie name Scrappy, who is one of the best dogs I've ever seen. He has never had a accident in our house. He can hold it like nothing I've ever seen, but will not go in the house. He obeys my ever command like the good boy he is. He is my sons unconditional bestfriend. They never fight and Scrappy never back talks. He is his constant companion. He also loves me with all his heart. He is definitely one of the family. Now about My Mia. She will be 8 months old on the 23rd and she is MY baby. I went to a fair last summer at a near by town and I ran into a man that had a baby yorkie. I immediately fell in love with HIS dog. When I finally left this man, I turned to my son and told him that I wanted a yorkie and my hubby said "NO", were not having another dog in our house. He was pretty much determined that I wasn't getting one. My son turned to me (he's 12) and said "Mom, when I get a job and get older I will buy you one. I promise you will have one of those dogs before I leave to go to college" I just smiled at him and said "thank you sweetie, I appreciate you doing that for me". Well months went by and we teased my husband about getting me a yorkie, and he still kept saying "NO". In December my sister in law called me and told me she and her bestfriend was getting yorkies and that she had one more left, If I wanted one. My heart broke. I wanted one so bad... I thought, and thought, and thought about asking my husband for one for Christmas and then I thought about all the things I'd like to have instead. I thought of all the responcilibilty that went with getting a new puppy(trying to talk myself out of it). Did I want this or not? For two weeks I thought about it and my time was running out for getting one, so I called my sister in law back and ask her to call the breeder and ask her if she had one left and to my surprize, she did. I knew right then, that it was a sign from god that I was to have this puppy, not knowing the love I would immediately experience the minute I seen her sweet little face. All three of us waited for a few more weeks(with anticipation) until we was to get them. OMG, I can't describe the feeling I had when I seen her. She was precious!!! Even though I was the last one to get to choose out of the three that my sister in law and her friend was getting. Mine was the thinner, greyed haired one. (definitely not the prettiest one, but I didn't care) My heart grew a inch when I held her. I literally thought I was going to cry. Then I had to take her home to a hubby that still didn't want another dog, but was letting me anyways I took her into our home and he fell in love at once, and she hasn't left his side since. I have pics in my album showing proof of this. She is the apple of our eye and has become one of our family members. She is spunky, witty, ambitious, stubborn, happy, mischievous, scrapys bestfriend, and my new baby girl. (in a house with all men). When I've had a bad day at school (school nurse) she is ALWAYS at the door to greet me when I come in, with all kinds of slobbery kisses. She instantly makes my day better. When I get up in the mornings, she is waiting at my door for me to snuggle with her before our day begins. I love her with all my heart and am so thankful I chose her as a Christmas present instead of a new purse or new shoes, etc. She is the gift that will last forever...No one knows how much these special dogs touch your life once you've had the priviledge to have one, until you get one of your own. Anyway I hate that I wrote such a long story, but just wanted to share the story of MY Mia....

| It warms the heart to see how very special each and everyone one is to all of you. Buddy is a 4 1/2 yr old silk coated male Yorkie. I am blessed to have found him in a pet store when he was 14 1/2 wks old. He was so much bigger then the other's there and I knew he was coming home with me. He did and my life has not been the same, it got better. Buddy is healthy and a momma's boy. He loves family, especially the two little ones and enjoy's company when they come. He is my campagion and the love of my life. Buddy wants only to please me and get's really upset when I am. He jumps on me to give kisses and make me feel better he has even thrown up when he has seen me upset. My life revolves around him. He sleeps when I sleep and wakes when I wake. He knows my every move and is never far from where I am. We are completely bonded to one another. I can't imagine life without him nor do I want to. Buddy is a sweet, loving, caring Yorkie who only wants to please. I, also only want to please him. We are some pair Bud and I. He listens to me when I talk, doing that little head tilt that most do when he listening. I truly believe he understands most of what is said to him. My Bud is my best friend and I love him dearly. |

| Wow, these stories make me realize just how much so many people adore their companions! It's such a happy feeling to know that other people out there totally "get" how I feel about my two. Max, to me, is the perfect dog. He's my first dog ever and so we've learned together. He's kind of quiet and serious. He takes his job as protector VERY seriously. He's amazingly intelligent. I thought it was unusual that he would honestly know every toy that he has (and he's got a LOT) by name and it's so weird, b/c he learns them almost immediately when I bring them home. I take it out of the bag and present it to him, saying "here's the ......blue bear"...or whatever.....and from that moment on, if I say "go get the blue bear" he'll go get it (IF he's in the mood for that game). But I just read an article in National Geographic that describes something similar in dogs~ you can read it here: Animal Minds - National Geographic Magazine He's very sensitive; if he knows that I'm upset or if my dh is yelling, Max runs to me and jumps all over me so I'll pick him up and he can make sure I'm not upset. He licks me all over and then just wants to sit in my lap. He's extremely sweet and loving but he's not fond of strangers. He has to know you before you are permitted to touch him. But when he loves someone, he doesn't forget them ever....he knows who "Auntie Melanee" is (My best girlfriend) and if I even say her name, he looks around, runs to the door, gets all excited and won't leave me alone til she gets here. It's so cute! And he loves his "Grammy" and 'Grampy" even though we don't see them that often. But if I mention their names, his little tail is just waggling! He signals me when he wants something by just sitting down within eyesight and staring at me. If I don't pay attention to him, he'll do a little whine, like a squeak to get my attention, LOL. He knows EXACTLY what time he gets fed and what time he gets his "snacks" and he lets you know too! He's everything to me and my husband. He's just got all the very best qualities you could ever ask for. Madison is my special boy. Bringing him home from being abandoned out in the desert, practically starving to death, not knowing what a toy was or how to play, and seeing him blossom is so incredibly gratifying. I can't even tell you how happy I am when I look at him and see how far he's come and knowing that I actually saved him! It makes me feel like I'm full of myself and like I think I'm some sort of hero, but the real feeling I have is that it's just such a HUGE GIFT that I was given to be able to do that for him and a testament to what love and compassion can bring to your life! He loves me beyond anything. He doesn't let me out of his sight for a second and is very possessive of me. But he LOVES everyone! He's the HAPPIEST dog, and his little tail is just like a propeller; it's ALWAYS wagging! He literally BOUNCES around the house and now is the chief destroyer of toys. He never whines or begs for food; he lies down quietly while I'm fixing their dishes (while Mr Max is jumping, and whining like he's STARVING) and while we're eating he goes and lies down. He's so goofy and when I pick him up, he likes me to hold him like a baby on his back and he wiggles all over trying to lick my face. He's so patient while I comb all the mats out of his hair, just lying down and letting me comb away. He's so trusting. We've all been thru a lot together with Madison and he's doing so well and I'm just so thrilled with him. Max is like my rock~ steady and calm, sensitive and smart; he is my soul. And Madison is filled with joy and silliness, unbridled love and adoration; he's my heart. And they're both filled with pure love. They are my everything.

| Chachi is 3. He is very smart and sensitive. He is easy to train. He is lovable but only cuddly when hes in the mood. He is very mischevious! He is very playful and will play for hour with you. Jewels is a diva. She is also 3. She lives to cuddle with someone. She will give me kisses for 15 minutes straight. She loves to prance around in her dresses. She doesnt like to get dirty or wet. She is more stubborn and more difficult to train. She likes soft play. She sometimes gets jealous and growls at Chachi if he jumps up when she is sitting by on of us. She is very submissive and sensitiive

| What a great thread! Thanks for thinking about it. Autumn: she is my precious baby girl. She saved me when I was down and out from medical problems. It wasn't until after I got her that I realized how much I needed her. She is devoted beyond belief. She is a real spitfire - always on guard. Loves to bark and be held (but only like a newborn baby - cradled in your arms) She is every dogs friend. She does not care if its a great dane or a 2lb dog. She wants to be their friend. She is very curious - always has to be sniffing around and digging holes. She is a true blessing to me. I love her more then she will ever know. Blaze: he thinks he is a tough guy. He loves to play ball (endlessly - it could drive you mad). he is everyones snuggle buddy. He gets right under the covers and hunkers down. He has a cotton coat that makes him look like a crazy ungroomed mess. He has a big bark but is such a chicken its not funny! He won't even come outside if the kids are in the pool. Blaze is everyones friend. If you can offer him a scratch or a lap he will love you, he is certainly not picky. He is a huge HOARDER of toys. He could have 12 toys out to play with and if another dog takes a different dog from the basket he must have that too. He is certainly not a good sharer. But we love him anyway! Chance: He is small and shy. Since we have only had him two weeks its kind of hard to tell how he will be. He likes to snuggle too! He is just learning how to walk on a leash. He seems to like all dogs and people. He is fitting in just right and are so glad that we rescued him!
