| I think I would have freaked out too. I would be angry too.The one thing that really pissed me off about this story is one Fact. The groomer just handed him over to you ,let you pay and think that all was well. KNowing what she did ,she should have told you about the accident. The groomer would have shown true responsibility if: She would have called you when this happened.Given you something to control bleeding at least. I groom my own dogs and accidents do happen but Ihave never cut a chunk off of any of them. But I dont groom dozens of dogs a day either. I just cant get around the fact that she didnt call you or mention it to you when you went to pick him up!!! I agree with some of the posts here. I would get him checked by the vet and have the groomers pay for the vet bills. Genie,Cookie,Lola & Angel |

| How's the baby now??? What did the vet say??? Anyway, I think I would pursue something for sure. That baby could have bled to death.......god forbid, had she have had to leave him alone right away after the grooming, and he was left to bleed........ Bad bad bad judgement call on the groomer. Accidents happen, of course.......but you HAVE to report them!!! Not reporting it is the problem, not the accident. So as a result, I think whatever consequences there are to face, they should face. A vet bill- yes! N/C for the hacking session (of course!) They originally took payment....good god! And something written to whatever BBB you have in your area (not sure how it works in the states)......it has to be reported. Never go back. Never recommend them. And hope that no other baby suffers or has suffered without being told of the injury. Terrible! Where's their conscience? MY two bits! |

| yeah..they put some kind of glue on his ear... when he was with me in the car..i was looking at it.. then all of the sudden a whoel bunch of blood just SPURTED OUT. it's all over my car... and i dont have leather either..i have fabric.. and its a brand new car.. that my parents bought me for my graduation present.. i dont really are about the car.. i was just upset because they were dishonest with me. but just so you guys know, i toook snickers to the vet, and he is going to be okay. he's going to have a huge chunk of meat missing out of his ear..for god knows how long.. but he is going to be okay, there is no infection or anything.. oh and and i did actually go on websites and give that business REALLY BAD RATINGS! funny because the owner of the place actually owns TWO YORKIES! so i hope she see's this, if she even knows about this forum. if any of you guys reside in the portland oregon area, dont ever get your dog groomed at CAT - N - DOGGIE DO'S.. please.. this happened to my dog..and i do not believe they deserve any more business because of this incident. thank you so much for you every one's input..i really appreciate it!! |

| I guess I am a little late reading this thread but if it were me. I would have taken my dog to the vet immediately and had them pay for the bills and then sued them for the simple fact that they tried to hide it by holding him for three hours and then not telling you like they were trying to hide something. If I accidently cut an ear i would immediately tell the owner because they are going to notice. Thats why when I pick up my yorkies from the cleaners I look them over for at least a good 15-20 minutes in front of the groomer and if I don't like something I ask. So I am glad your dog is doing better.

| I sure hope your baby is going to be okay! ![]() I think of my "dog" as my child or my baby, and I too would be so heart broken I've only groomed my baby girl twice. Today was our second time grooming and It went very, very slow... 2-1/2 hours to be exact, but the first time took us 3 hours. So I think we are progressing. I'm getting more confident and Lola is learning to trust me more. I asked Lola, "Please have trust in me and in turn will promise I will never let anyone else groom you in the future". It was a very scary thing to hear that clippers can cut their little ears open. This isn't something that was written on any of the grooming sites I read up on. Thank You for sharing your heart breaking story with me. This will help me pay closer attention with using the clippers on my little girls ears. Just because they have a guard on them, doesn't mean they wont cut those very thin ears. I will be looking for your updates, to check on how your baby is doing.

| OMG! I feel so bad for snickers. I completely understand how you feel. How could they even let snickers out of there without even letting you know about the accident?
