| Lily May's new dress my brother and sister in law sent lily a new dress. it doesn't show up very good in the pictures but, her dress says "material girl" i am in the process of deciding if i want to grow her hair out or get her cut in puppy cut, i just don't know what to do with the hair on the top of her head, i tried a topknot, but it looked funny,it was too long. the hair on her head doesn't seem to be very thick. i usually try to comb it back, but then she looks like she has a comb over. would she look funny with a long coat and short hair on top of head? |

| Lily May is a cutie! If her hair is too long for a topknot, you could trim it some and then try it. Or, look at some of the pictures on here to see if any of them have a hairdo that you would like to try on Lily.

| Lily is adorable!!! I love her outfit! Mika's hair isn't long enough for a topknot yet but If you tie it up maybe you could just chop some of the ends, just make sure you cut INTO the hair and not straight across, it will look more natural when the hair is loose!

| She's a beauty!! The clothes are darling! First, how old is she... ...in regards to the hair, I was in a very similar situation........ to cut, or not to cut! I always thought I would stick to a puppy cut. But then, when Jaya got her hair cut the first time, I was simply........destraught. The lady cut it way too short, and you could barely recognize her. I missed all the hair, and when the hair around the face got cut- well it totally changed the way she looked. I was upset for a very long time. After that, I made the decision to grow their hair long. I got Jenna a month or so after Jaya had her haircut. Jenna is 7 months and Jaya is ten months old Fast forward six months. Within that time I would stick their top hair in a pony tail (you can buy those mini rubber bands that dont hurt when u pull them out). Those work great - totally keeps their hair out of their eyes, and looks SO cute. Anyway, Jenna always had thin hair on the top of her head - it is growing thicker (but very slowly). Anyways, a few weeks back, they had their ponytales in, and they looked so shaggy... their hair was long but they no longer looked like puppies. So, I first took Jaya into the bathroom....... she had her ponytale which i trimmed off maybe a quarter of an inch. I then focused on her face and took off about an inch, and left the length about 2 inches. Trimmed the rest of her in a similar way. Then it was Jenna`s turn.......... did the same with her. SO! I basically left the hair on their head long enough to remain in a ponytail but gave them a puppycut for the rest of their hair - and I must say, that I absolutely love it. I chose to keep the hair for the ponytail long because, it really bothers me when the hair falls into their eyes. If i was going to get a groomer to cut that hair- they shave the hair on the bridge of their nose, and then when it grows back, the little hair pokes them in the eye, causing eye goobers. So now, I am in a very happy state about their appearance. Basically - they are in between dogs......... they look like puppies because i trimmed around their faces giving them cubby little cheeks but very fashionista because they have a ponytail! I plan on doing this for as long as I can! I have yet to post pictures of them as almost-adults But I will soon! Hope that helps! |

| First of all, she is absolutely too cute!!! Mojo's "bangs" are very long (were very long, just recently cut them ), and I never did a "true" top knot. I would pull his bangs back and make a pony tail, put a bow over the band and he was good to go. The hair in the pony tail just falls back between his ears, down the back of his head and mixes w/ the rest of the hair. (if that all makes sense) For LilyGrace, we have learned to keep the kind of "visor-cut" for her bangs, but we make it a longer cut, not the really short visor cut that groomers normally do. With this, we can still leave her hair down or pull it back into a small pony tail. I have never seen a Yorkie (if I have, I don't remember) w/ a long body and short head hair. I have always see the short body hair and longer face (puppy cut - which is what we just did w/ Mojo ) Maybe someone would have a picture if they have done it before.

| So cute. I love the black lace on the dress haha Duke doesn't let me put his hair up at all so I trim the hair on the top of his head, I have it taper down so that it blends with the rest of his longer hair. not a typical way to cut a Yorkie's hair I am sure, but it works, and I think it looks alright. I tried attaching a picture, first time I have done it so I don't know if it worked, but you can kind of see how his hair is shorter on top
