| We picked out our puppy tonight at the breeder. Here are a couple of pictures of him. He's 10 weeks old now. He's got a little white bib because his dad is a Biewer. He weighs 2 1/2 pounds. She thinks he'll get to be about 6 pounds full grown. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b3...r/100_3211.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b3...r/100_3222.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b3...r/100_3207.jpg |

| When we bring him home, how soon can we start taking him for walks? When should you start a puppy kindergarten class? How quickly do they potty train? (I'm sure they are all different, but in your experience...) What do I need to ask the breeder when we pick him up? |

| Hi.. Cutest little puppy. Did you get him from a lady in Elk River? I'm from the Minneapolis area too and she's the only other person that I know of with Biewer litters right now. Just a suggestion, but you may want to ask the breeder to tape up his ears. Although they are very cute the way they are, they may still be able to be trained to go up if you'de like them too. Yorkies ears traditionally go up. The hair needs to be shaved and the ears taped.. it doesn't take very long. Feel free to PM me if you'de like, I'd be happy to help you. The splitters (Biewer/Yorkies)usually have wonderful personalities.. you'll be very very happy with this puppy. congratulations!! -Diana |

| Yes, he's from the lady in Elk River. She told us last night she could tape his ears but we're just going to see if they go up on his own or not. He's cute with them down. He'll be cute with them up. Unless people think we *should* tape them up. Personality-wise our main concern is that he not eat our pet cockatiels. He was very laid back yesterday. Not very rambunctious. He wasn't shaking or scared or cowering in a corner, but he wasn't running all over crazy either. She said he's like that. Hopefully he stays that way. | Can't help you much on the Cockatiels, I think if he grows up with them and he's introduced slowly to them and he feels they're just part of the pack he moved in to, things should be fine..mine seem to be a bit more low key then my yorkies. At this age, I don't think the ears will go up anymore on their own, but they're cute either way.. Sandy is a very experienced breeder, go with whatever she says...she's been doing this a loooong time. Say "hi" to her for me.. -Diana |

| Aww he is a cutie ,you might want to buy some puppy pads good for toilet training. ![]() As for the cockateils I have a cockatiel and Lottie does not bother with him but Alfie is very jealous of him and tries to jump up at his cage.He has never harmed him but I just would not trust him with him. But Lottie never bothers with him at all.

| ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You must be soooo excited. I cannot wait for my next one. But I have to wait until at least fall. Sounds like you have almost everything. I am not so sure about the rawhide-I think that is a no-no. Might look it up, and also need Nutri-cal for hypoglycemia-which they are prone too. Good Luck!!

| I called the breeder just a few minutes ago and left a message for her I changed my mind and do want her to tape the ears up. That's what normal yorkies look like so I want him to look that way too, but if she doesn't get the message or it doesn't work to tape them, that's okay. I'll love Cruiser no matter what he looks like. He's cute either way. Oh, by the way, our breeder's name is Wanda. |

| Congratulations on your new baby! We have had dogs and birds for years and years. We used to have a little Parrotlet who got along great with the dogs. Now we have an Eclectus and he too gets along with everyone. He actually knows most of their names and with just sit there calling all of them. Like someone else advised, I would introduce them a little at a time. I also would never leave them alone together. While they might all learn to get along just great together, accidents can happen and it is just isn't worth having anyone hurt or killed. Good luck with your new little one!

| I just picked my yorkie 2 months ago. I was instructed by the Vet that you should not take the puppy our for walks until they get all their vaccination. |
