![]() Thanks to everyone for their kind and informative replies! This really is a great site but sadly I have bad news...I was told by my "friend" that I would have 2-3 days or longer to decide if I wanted the puppy for sure, but just found out tonight that she already gave the puppy to someone else because her own dog {the father of this pup} was trying to hurt it. There were other factors to this story that I didn't disclose...one being that this puppy was very much wanted by my daughter who's boyfriend is about to enter bootcamp very soon and she wanted the puppy to keep her company and to have something to love and care for. Also that my daughter leaves for college next year around this time so then the dog would become my full responsibility. After a lot of soul searching and thought, my husband and I both decided to give it a try {daughter is out of town this week} just this evening and that is when I found out the bad {and most confusing!} news!! I am still not sure why I was not at least called and informed what was going on...abit hurt and angry and upset that I have to tell my daughter, but then again, maybe it was not meant to be. Anyways, sorry this is so long but I have been mulling over it for the last couple hours and just needed to vent. I am going to go hug my parrot now, but thanks so much to everyone who took the time to reply to my post.

![]() Welcome to YT! I will say I am sorry you have been disappointed but I am totally sorry for that puppy. I can almost guarantee that the puppy will have social quirks and I would like to just smack (okay just kiddin') that person who took that baby away from the mom at this age. Okay, my blood is starting to boil so I will stop before I have to say Adios to my butt as it goes flyin' out in cyber space..

![]() Hello and welcome to YT . I agree that 5 weeks is way to young to be separated from its mother. I think 12 weeks is a perfect age. I got both of mine at 8 weeks and they did very well. A free Yorkie thats great and sense your not planning on breeding then the papers are not that important, If the lady was offering it to me Id take it too. I would ask her to keep it a few more weeks , If shes not willing to do that then I would go ahead and take her, b/C shes just going to end up in some one elses hands. I think Male Yorkies are harder to potty train , My male was My female was trained in a matter of weeks, My male it took a lot longer. And I agree with the others , yorkies are wonderful pets. I wish you luck with your new puppie and I hope that The Yorkie and your other pets become the best of buds.
