THreads like these are invaluable. They teach us lessons we won't have to learn first hand and remind us how delicate our little ones are! | |

| I have to say, I wish I never read this! I'm totally freaked out. I told my BF last night that I no longer want him throwing toys off the couch, or around the couch for that matter because I'm afraid Mia will break her neck!

| wow.. reading these made me realize how lucky i've gotten.. my babies crashed into walls and tables.. and fallen off stairs.. and beds.. and everything.. while playing with each other.. and they're both fine.. so i guess i'm lucky.. i'm gonna have to keep a more watchful eye on them because they are not as strong as i thought they were!!! |

| Teddi has had her share of accidents and THANK GOD nothing has happened to her. She has fallen down a set of stairs (walked down about 2 of them and then just started rolling down the rest of the way). I caught her 2 stairs from the bottom....I think she was saved by the fact that she was wearing a hoodie so she had padding. Another time she was at a friends house and fell through her stairs outside (fell from about the 3rd stair from the top - she jumped out of her bag because she got excited to see my friend) but happened to land in a tub of water so by the time we ran down there she was swimming her hardest to get to the side of the tub. Now we avoid all stairs. She is not allowed on them at all.

| I throw Adie's ball off of the couch all the time but she uses her stairs to get up and down. They are a permanent fixture. Skeeter has already learned to fly up and down them too. |

| I have a story, but with a happy ending. My friends and their yorkie were walking along a river bank, and the yorkie decided to jump in. Well the current was too strong, and a few feet down the river was a waterfall. My friend quickly jumped in after the dog and grabbed him. But they both went over the fall. The dog was unharmed, but my friend busted his ankle really bad, and had a bunch of cuts and bruises. I'm going camping with my little guy for the first time this summer, I'm going to make sure he's always on the leash. And I'm planning on buying him a life jacket, because we go canoing a lot. I hope he'll be ok on the water. |

| I've heard a story when an icicle fell on a yorkie, killing it. I've also heard a story when a yorkie was playing on the couch and she fell and her head hit the coffee table leg and broke her neck, killing her. Thankfully nothing's ever happened to my little Mia! So people, keep your Yorkies away from coffee tables and icicles! |

| Gremlin is such a boy. I used to freak out about him sliding thru the house (chasing his fur-brother and playing fetch) and running into things. But he is almost 3 now and still does it. If he brings his tennis ball back i know he is ok. If not is when i have to worry. |

| trixie was playing with a soft kitty cat boll, the one that comes with catnip, she try to eat it and was choking on it. Also, at 2lbs, she jumps up and down the coutch all the time, that is why I rub her paws couse I always think she is hurting from jumping.

| These stories are so sad. ![]() I had a Chia-Pom, she was about 5lbs. Jumped up and down off the sofa all the time. She jumped one day and started screaming. She had broken her leg. the bone was showing. Took her to the vet. he said he could amputate it or do surgery and put pins in it. So, I had the surgery done. She had a cast on her leg. They ended up cutting off the blood-flow to her foot, it was too tight. One night, while I was asleep, she chewed some of her toes off. When I woke up, I freaked out. took her back in. She ended up with one of those cones on her head. Her leg did heal, and she was able to walk okay. |
